Overview

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Project Delivery Director to provide enterprise leadership for the firm’s Project Delivery Operating model. This position can be based in any of our United States locations such as Boca Raton, FL; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Kennesaw, GA; Raleigh, NC; Blue Bell, PA; or Houston, TX. At the company’s discretion hybrid work options in the United States may be available. In this role you will ensure consistent, scalable systems, tools, policies, and performance governance across regions while aligning corporate resources to operational needs. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to anticipate and drive change by partnering with Regional Project Delivery Directors, Finance, Legal, and Learning & Development to strengthen service agreement business terms, close adoption gaps, and build organizational capability through data-informed training and quality/audit consistency. You will serve as a strategic liaison on major enterprise initiatives, including the ongoing ERP/Data Warehouse transition, annual billing rate inputs, digital strategy, and M&A due diligence and integration. You will also provide on-demand expert support for the Regions for go/no-go decisions and risk mitigation to protect outcomes and promote project delivery excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following.

  • Sets the enterprise strategy for project delivery tools and systems, including the evaluation, prioritization, and advancement of emerging AI-enabled technologies to enable the firm to pursue significantly larger, more complex, and higher-risk work;
  • Leads firmwide decision-making regarding project delivery tool investments, ensuring alignment with strategic growth objectives and enterprise risk tolerance;
  • Collaborates and provides directional leadership to Regional Project Delivery Directors by synthesizing regional input into clear enterprise priorities, standards, and improvement roadmaps;
  • Provides enterprise leadership on project delivery–related business terms, partnering with Accounting and Legal to influence firm-wide positions on rates, payment terms, contract language, and risk allocation;
  • Monitors adoption of enterprise systems and policies and identifies gaps to Regional Project Delivery Directors. Serves as the enterprise business owner for project delivery functionality within the ERP and Data Warehouse, accountable for ensuring mission-critical data, reports, and workflows meet project manager needs. On an ongoing basis, helps to ensure that further development of ERP functionality is focused on the highest value features to support project delivery;
  • Leads enterprise-level alignment across regions by establishing expectations, decision frameworks, and escalation pathways for regional project delivery feedback, tool adoption, and continuous improvement;
  • Owns resolution of cross-regional project delivery issues where consistency, standardization, or enterprise risk exposure is required;
  • Defines and communicates enterprise project delivery standards, with Regional Project Delivery Directors accountable for regional execution and adoption;
  • Provides strategic guidance and oversight for the development and delivery of the project delivery-related training program;
  • Assesses training needs based on review of project performance data and KPIs, with input from Regional Project Delivery Directors, Regional Finance Directors, Learning & Development, and other sources;
  • Works with data quality practitioners to develop/enhance our laboratory audit programs and develop consistency amongst various firm-wide data quality practitioners;
  • Coordinates input from operational stakeholders (Regional Project Delivery Directors, Regional Leadership Teams, High Growth Area leads, etc.) on market conditions and annual billing rate increases for CFO evaluation. Serves as contact point for dissemination of annual rate schedule updates;
  • Acts as the enterprise project delivery leader within digital strategy initiatives, ensuring project delivery needs shape firm-wide digital investments;
  • Partners with the M&A oversight team, if requested, assessing project delivery capabilities and needs of potential acquisitions during due diligence;
  • Supports Regional Project Delivery Directors as requested as a subject matter expert, consultative partner, backstop, independent reviewer, and/or additional resource to address project delivery-related planning, go/no-go decisions;
  • Participates in and contributes to project risk reviews or project risk mitigation actions related to emerging disputes if requested by Legal, Regional Leadership Teams or Regional Project Delivery Directors; and
  • Leads the enterprise governance of timesheet correction requests, setting standards, decision criteria, and risk thresholds in collaboration with Accounting Finance and Tax.
Education and Licensure
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher. (required)
  • Professional registration and/or certification as personal practice dictates. (required)
  • Project management certification. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 15 years of progressive professional experience executing and delivering projects to clients in the architecture, engineering, and consulting (AEC) industry. (required)
  • In-depth knowledge of the company business model, organization, and project delivery initiatives, with demonstrated experience successfully delivering projects using a variety of delivery types while working within a project delivery framework and interfacing closely with a Quality Management Plan. (required)
  • Internal experience as a strong, proven leader (internally with practitioners and corporate teams and/ externally with clients) of numerous complex projects and diverse teams. (required)
  • Excellence in project management, project controls and risk management. (required)
  • Experience in a variety of project fee types, end markets and client types (e.g., public, private, client groups, research) expected. (required)
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to achieve mutually beneficial agreements in challenging situations are necessary. (required)
  • Current or past experience serving on a leadership team and/or in line management will be considered a merit.
  • Experience training adults in the professional services industry is a plus.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
