You will own the integrated planning cadence (e.g. sales & operations planning (S&OP) that translates pipeline and project controls into clear material readiness and asset readiness signals for Sourcing & Procurement and Execution, reducing late material surprises, stabilizing field productivity, and reducing capital intensity through disciplined inventory and asset planning.

As the SC Planning Lead, you will work closely with the SC SVP and senior leadership to support strategy and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • S&OP / SIOP Cadence: Build and lead a planning cadence that aligns project pipeline + active project schedules to supply, inventory, and execution capacity.
    • Define standard planning horizons (0-4 weeks execution readiness, 4-12 weeks constraint planning, 3-18 months outlook) and decision forums.
    • Drive decisions on prioritization when constraints exist (allocation rules, project phasing tradeoffs, material re-sequencing).
  • Material Demand Planning & Forecasting: Convert project schedules and requirements, install sequencing, and BOMs into time-phased demand by site, commodity, and critical path.
    • Build and own the demand planning methodology: assumptions, consumption curves, unit rates, and adjustments based on productivity and schedule changes.
    • Maintain planning views for long-lead items (inverters, racking/trackers) and BOS/consumables with appropriate granularity.
    • Provide actionable insights to sourcing and procurement for critical parts, domestic sourcing needs
    • Perform scenario analysis to determine potential constraints on capacity, projected costs to understand the risk in the supply chain
    • Integrate domestic content requirements into planning by ensuring material plans reflect the correct product configurations and supplier selections, and proactively identifying domestic content documentation needs in partnership with Procurement and Estimating
  • Supply Planning & Constraint Management: Partner with Sourcing/Procurement to translate supplier lead times, capacity commitments, and logistics constraints into feasible supply plans.
    • Identify constraints early (supplier capacity, lead times, transport limits, site storage restrictions) and ensure mitigation actions are defined and executed, including substitutions, resequencing, and alternate sourcing triggers
  • Inventory Planning & Deployment Strategy: In conjunction with the operations & supply chain strategy set inventory policy and targets across the network including segmentation and planning parameters.
    • Define rules for stocking vs direct delivery to reduce excess and duplicate buys.
    • Align inventory positioning and replenishment logic to site readiness milestones and laydown constraints.
  • Asset Planning: Forecast demand for construction assets and temporary site infrastructure (owned and rental) by project/site and by phase of work.
    • Establish planning standards for mobilization lead times, rental durations, peak demand smoothing, and redeployment triggers.
    • Provide the demand signal and planning assumptions that drive Asset Purchasing (S&P) and coordinate timing with Asset Management (Execution).
  • Planning Data Governance: Maintain accurate planning inputs (BOMs, lead times, item master) so forecasts and readiness plans are reliable.
  • Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing planning organization with clear roles, standard work, and an operating cadence that drives reliable field readiness.
    • Demonstrate strong project management and communication skills, with a hands-on problem-solving mindset and bias for action to remove blockers and drive decisions.
    • Lead continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, and data disciplines to scale performance as project volume and complexity grow.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field
  • 10+ years in supply chain planning, materials management, project planning, or integrated planning within EPC, construction, renewables, industrials, or similarly complex project-based environments.
  • Direct experience building/running an S&OP cadence and translating it into execution decisions.
  • Strong understanding of project-based supply chain planning: BOM maturity, schedule volatility, design maturity, long-lead constraints.
  • Proven expertise in inventory planning (segmentation, safety stock/min-max, E&O prevention).
  • Experience planning construction assets (owned + rentals), including mobilization lead times and redeployment assumptions, preferred.
  • Familiarity supporting compliance-driven sourcing requirements such as domestic content / IRA, country-of-origin constraints, and tariff-driven supply strategies, preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate data into executive-ready recommendations and clear prioritization decisions.
  • Systems proficiency: experience using Oracle and ERP-based planning tools required; advanced Excel required; BI tools (Power BI/Tableau) preferred.
  • Proven leader who can drive cross-functional coordination, align stakeholders across functions and facilitate timely planning focused decisions
