Ready To

Personify Health is seeking a Director of Data Operations (DataOps) to establish and lead a scalable, reliable, and metrics-driven DataOps function supporting our claims platform. This leader will own end-to-end operational data flows—including all inbound and outbound claims-related file transfers—ensuring data completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and observability in production.

This role is critical to building an industry-leading, disciplined, and industrialized DataOps operating model capable of supporting ongoing client migrations, vendor onboarding, and rapidly increasing file volume with confidence and consistency.

What You'll Actually Do

DataOps Ownership
  • Own all DataOps functions directly supporting the claims platform, including eligibility, claims, accumulators, and downstream operational data files.
  • Serve as the executive owner for how operational data files are executed, monitored, and governed across the data ecosystem.
  • Ensure DataOps capacity and scalability support client implementations, renewals, and vendor integrations.
Inbound & Outbound File Transfer Management
  • Establish clear ownership, accountability, and operating discipline for all inbound and outbound file transfers supporting claims processing.
  • Oversee file automation and delivery across platforms, including the claims platform, data warehouse, EFT/SFTP processes, and outbound file delivery tools.
  • Ensure end-to-end file traceability and real-time status visibility (e.g., received, processing, automated vs. manual) to prevent operational issues and client impact.
Operational Monitoring & Issue Management
  • Implement automated pre-load and post-load audits for all inbound eligibility, claims, and accumulator data.
  • Implement automated pre-file generation and post-file generation audits for all outbound eligibility, claims, and accumulator data.
  • Define, track, and continuously improve DataOps performance metrics, including triage time, resolution time, incident aging, and recurrence.
  • Proactively detect, triage, and resolve data production issues with predictable turnaround times and minimal client disruption.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner closely with internal teams (Engineering, Product, Implementation, Client Operations) and external vendors to remediate file delivery risks and design resilient operating models.
  • Provide executive-level visibility and leadership during implementation go-lives and client renewals, reducing DataOps-driven escalations and operational fire drills.
Team & Operating Model Leadership
  • Lead and scale a unified DataOps organization responsible for EDI ingestion through outbound data delivery, with clear domain and regional ownership.
  • Build and reinforce a culture of reliability, urgency, accountability, and “right the first time” execution across operational data services.
What You Bring to Our Team:
  • 10+ years of experience in data operations, data engineering operations, or platform operations, with significant experience supporting claims or healthcare data ecosystems.
  • Proven leadership experience building and scaling production-grade DataOps or operational data teams.
  • Deep experience with file-based integrations (EDI, SFTP, batch processing), data quality controls, and operational monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of claims, eligibility, and accumulator data flows in healthcare, benefits administration, or payer ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to define operating models, performance metrics, and process discipline at scale.
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to drive clarity during high-impact operational moments.

Benefits

The Highlights:

  • Competitive base salary and benefits effective day one
  • Comprehensive medical and dental through our own health solutions (yes, we use what we build)
  • Unlimited PTO—rest and recharge time is non-negotiable
  • Mental health support, retirement planning, and financial protection
  • Professional development with clear career progression and learning budgets
  • Mission-driven culture where diverse perspectives drive real impact on people's health
