Position Overview
We are seeking an Analytics Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to join our Business Intelligence team. This role is designed for a technical problem-solver who enjoys architecting the data logic that powers a championship-winning commercial strategy. Operating 100% on-site at our Sunrise offices, you will collaborate directly with our team in a fast-paced environment to serve as the critical bridge between our technical data architecture and the mathematical frameworks that dictate our business operations. This position is perfect for someone with a strong foundation in SQL and Python, a passion for working with data at scale, and a desire to be at the heart of the action in the sports and entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and define the core data models and semantic layers within Amazon Redshift to serve as the primary foundation for all organizational reporting and Tableau visualizations.
  • Write and maintain high-performance Python and SQL to automate complex data streams, utilizing AWS services to ensure our infrastructure is efficient and scalable.
  • Act as a technical consultant to our data analysts, translating business requirements into precise data structures that allow the team to influence departmental strategy.
  • Build and implement automated testing and monitoring frameworks to guarantee 100% data integrity before insights reach the executive decision-making table.
  • Assist in the containerization and deployment of data workflows using Docker and Prefect, transforming manual or legacy processes into scalable, production-grade solutions.
  • Continuously optimize query performance and data warehouse logic to ensure that diverse commercial data streams are unified into fast, revenue-driving insights, while minimizing cost.
  • Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD).

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, database management, or a similar data-intensive role.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, with a focus on writing optimized, cost-efficient queries and managing complex logic within Redshift.
  • Solid experience using Python for data processing, automation, and interacting with APIs.
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining production-level ETL/ELT pipelines and data models.
  • Familiarity with Tableau, specifically in managing data sources and ensuring a clean, performant semantic layer for end-users.
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site at our Sunrise, FL offices. This role is based 100% in-person to support close collaboration with the broader BI team and cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred:
  • Experience with workflow orchestration using Prefect and containerization with Docker.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem (S3, Lambda, etc.).
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets for analytics or machine learning initiatives.
  • Experience building automated data quality checks and validation layers within an ETL/ELT lifecycle
  • A passion for sports analytics or previous experience within the sports and entertainment industry.

Team & Environment
You will join a lean, fast-moving Business Intelligence team where creativity and speed are essential. We operate in a structured environment, but our tasks are often open-ended and require someone who learns quickly and is creative with technical solutions. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives in an agile setting and is eager to contribute to the continued success of the Florida Panthers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salaried (exempt) position. This role is 100% in-person in our Sunrise Florida offices; remote or hybrid work is not available. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support game-day operations.
At the Florida Panthers Hockey Club, Arena Operating Company, Panthers IceDen, Sanza Food Service, War Memorial Benefit Corporation, and FLA Team Shop, we strive to make every employee feel valued and respected for who they are and the unique contributions they make. We believe that a diverse and inclusive company is a more innovative and successful company, which is why we aim to infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) into all aspects of our culture and our business.
