We are seeking a Data Analyst to support federal government trade, analytics, and mission transformation priorities by preparing, analyzing, documenting, and reporting on complex data to support data-driven decision-making. This role will support data science project teams by conducting data mining, data preparation, data quality review, reporting, needs and gaps assessments, and analytical studies across large and complex data environments.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with data analysis, data preparation, reporting, database support, and visualization, along with the ability to work closely with data scientists, engineers, architects, project managers, and government stakeholders. This role requires an analyst who can assess the accuracy and reasonableness of data, support implementation of analytical models, document findings, and help transform data into clear, concise, and actionable insights.
This role will primarily support work in the Washington, DC Metro area, with work expected at or near the client site in Ashburn, VA as required by the contract. Telework may bepermittedonly with prior government approval.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a recent DHS Public Trust, DoD Secret, or DoD Top Secret clearance, and must be able to obtain andmaintaina CBP background investigation or other required government suitability determination.
Conduct data mining, data preparation, reporting, analysis, studies, and needs/gaps assessments to support complex mission and operational questions
Prepare, clean, transform,validate, and analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
Assess the accuracy, completeness, reasonableness, and usability of data, recommendations, and proposed solutions
Prepare big data for use in statistical analysis, machine learning, data modeling, reporting, visualization, and business intelligence products
Provide database support for customer solutions, including data extraction, data validation, data profiling, and data quality support
Develop data-driven analyses, reports, dashboards, and visualizations based on data models and stakeholder requirements
Support development of data exploration results reports, analytical summaries, model prototype and evaluation reports, and other project deliverables
Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, data architects, developers, UX/UI designers, and project managers to deliver end-to-end analytical capabilities
Participate in Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, task estimation, status reporting, demonstrations, and issue resolution
Communicate analytical concepts, methods, findings, and products to technical and non-technical audiences
Maintain documentation for datasets, analytical methods, data transformations, reports, dashboards, and workflows
Candidate mustresidein the U.S. and be able to support onsite work in the Washington, DC Metro area, including Ashburn, VA, as needed
Four (4) years of relevant experience in applied research directed to machine learning, statistics, applied mathematics, data science, computer science, operations research, or another closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or another closely related scientific or technical discipline
Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, Analytics, or another closely related discipline
Experience supporting DHS, CBP, or other federal law enforcement, trade, revenue, regulatory, or mission operations environments
Experience supporting analytical solutions for fraud detection, trade evasion, revenue protection, import safety, forced labor, intellectual property rights, supply chain risk, or other enforcement and compliance use cases
Experience working with high-volume structured and unstructured data from disparate sources, including transactional, entity, network, operational, or case management data
Experience using SQL, Python, R, Excel, SAS, Spark, Databricks, AWS, or similar tools for data preparation, analysis, reporting, or visualization
Experience with data profiling, data quality assessment, data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and issue documentation
Experience developing dashboards, reports, data visualizations, or self-service analytics products using Tableau, Power BI,QuickSight, or similar platforms
Experience supporting machine learning, statistical modeling, anomaly detection, entity resolution, network analysis, cohort analysis, or risk-scoring projects
Experience writing analytical summaries, technical documentation, user guides, data dictionaries, or standard operating procedures
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability toidentifytrends, anomalies, inconsistencies, and meaningful patterns in data
Collaborative and proactive with the ability to work effectively with data scientists, engineers, architects, developers, project managers, and end users

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
