Summary:
The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center seeks a Principal Electronic Warfare (EW) Lead System Engineer who integrates hardware and software, develops test plans and procedures, debugs and evaluates system functions and interfaces, and verifies system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer.
We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab and in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions. In this lead role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together by leading a team of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts.
You will help lead Electronic Warfare product development, engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development. This position is an onsite role in Atlanta, Georgia
What You Will Do:
  • Lead the integration and test team through all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Integration, Verification and Troubleshoot Test activities in our labs and in the field.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs).
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design.
  • Create or modify existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability.
  • Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems, and firmware/control algorithms.
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
  • Schedule and lead periodic team meetings, interface teleconference meetings, working group meetings
  • Support associated with implementing process requirements

What You Will Learn:
After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting systems engineering, integration, and test activities across the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software, or Physics) and 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience leading engineering teams through integration and test activities
  • RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing
  • Experience integrating software and firmware onto electronic hardware systems
  • Experience with reading and integrating software routines with hardware/electronics; C/C++/C# preferred
  • Microsoft Office, MATLAB, or Python, for data analysis and automation

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
