About AV Stumpfl Inc

AV Stumpfl USA is the US operations arm of AV Stumpfl GmbH, an Austrian manufacturer renowned for premium projection screens and the Pixera media server platform. Based in Alpharetta, Georgia, our US team supports dealers, integrators, and end-users across the fixed installation and mobile/rental markets with product expertise, inventory, and tailored solutions.

The Role

AV Stumpfl USA is seeking a Technical Solution Specialist to serve as the primary product and technical resource for our Screens division. This role is purpose-built for someone from the AV integration world: a candidate who has specified, installed, or supported projection screens in houses of worship, corporate boardrooms, higher education, government facilities, staging, or live events environments, and is ready to bring that hands-on expertise to the manufacturer and distribution side.

The ideal candidate combines deep AV systems knowledge with strong problem-solving skills, a passion for precision, and the ability to manage multiple technical engagements simultaneously. You will serve as the go-to technical resource for both external customers and internal teams, working closely with business development, account management, and warehouse operations as a day-to-day technical authority for the US market. This role requires approximately 30% travel for customer site visits, trade shows, product training, and on-site support.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Consulting & Customer Support

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for dealer and integrator inquiries related to AV Stumpfl screen systems, surfaces, mounting hardware, and accessories
  • Conduct needs assessments and translate customer requirements into product recommendations across fixed installation, mobile, and custom screen configurations for venues including houses of worship, corporate AV, higher education, government, and live events
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations, product demos, and system design guidance to end-users, integrators, and A/V consultants
  • Collaborate with technical team in Austria, business development to support RFP responses, system designs, and technical proposal development

Product Expertise & Knowledge Management

  • Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of the full AV Stumpfl screens portfolio including Monoblox frame systems, Legs & SHIFT, Decoframe, Fullwhite and Vario/VarioClip surfaces, and motorized and manual variants across fixed installation and mobile applications
  • Track competitive landscape and maintain working knowledge of competitive products in the projection screen market
  • Develop and maintain internal training materials, product FAQs, configuration guides, and technical reference documentation
  • Assist in onboarding new dealer and integrator partners through product training sessions

Project Coordination & Order Management

  • Support customers from initial technical inquiry through order placement, coordinating with account management and purchasing teams to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment
  • Assist in managing product configuration accuracy, pricing verification, and inventory availability checks
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM (HubSpot) including project pipeline entries, customer communications, and follow-up activity
  • Support special-order and custom screen projects, liaising with AV Stumpfl GmbH on specifications and lead times

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the warehouse and operations team to ensure incoming screens inventory is accurately received, catalogued, and allocated
  • Coordinate with the business development team on rental/staging market opportunities requiring screens solutions
  • Support fixed installation projects with the integration specialist on screen selection, placement, and control system compatibility
  • Provide feedback to AV Stumpfl GmbH on US market product gaps, feature requests, and competitive pressure

Qualifications
Required

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in AV systems integration, AV distribution, or a product specialist role within the commercial AV industry
  • Direct experience with projection screen specification, installation, or support in commercial AV environments such as fixed installation, staging, rental, or live events
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable working with standard business tools including Microsoft Office / Excel and CRM platforms; experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) is a plus
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and customer engagements
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership

Preferred

  • Direct experience with AV Stumpfl, Draper, Da-Lite, Stewart Filmscreen, Elite Screens, or comparable projection screen brands; familiarity with screen gain, throw ratios, ambient light rejection, and surface selection for various projection environments
  • Familiarity with control systems including 12V trigger, RS-232, or low voltage control (LVC) integration
  • Background in staging, live events, or the rental & staging market (R&S) in addition to fixed installation; understanding of how screen requirements differ across these environments
  • Experience working directly with European manufacturers or in an import/distribution environment
  • CTS (AVIXA) certification or equivalent technical credential; active participation in the InfoComm/AVIXA community is a plus
  • Experience with electrical installation or possession of an electrician’s license is strongly preferred; familiarity with low-voltage wiring, conduit, and power distribution in commercial AV environments is a plus
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), particularly as it applies to screen mounting, motorized systems, and AV infrastructure in commercial installations
  • Working proficiency in German is a plus.

What We Offer

  • A front-row seat to premium European AV manufacturing — AV Stumpfl screens are trusted on world-class stages and in landmark installations globally
  • A small, tight-knit team where your contributions are visible and your expertise is valued
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Opportunity to grow with a company expanding its US footprint
