Job description

Director, Cybersecurity

Coppell, TX

What does it mean to be a BrinkerHead? It means creating moments that make everyone feel special - whether you're supporting our restaurants, celebrating wins with your team, or sparking ideas that keep Guests coming back. We play like a team, take pride in our culture, and know that life's too short not to work happy.

At Brinker's Restaurant Support Center (RSC), every role fuels the success of our brands - Chili's Grill & Bar and Maggiano's Little Italy - and directly impacts Team Members and Guests. From bold ideas to everyday support, we help create a fun atmosphere, great food and drinks, and the kind of hospitality that keeps everyone coming back. Here, you'll discover opportunities for career growth, belonging, wellbeing, and plenty of chances to work hard and have fun.

Brinker International is an equal opportunity employer. We're proud to provide a welcoming, respectful environment where everyone can thrive.

Job Summary

The Director of Cybersecurity is a senior leadership role responsible for protecting Brinker International's guests, team members, brands, and operations across a highly distributed restaurant environment. This role leads cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and incident response across corporate systems, restaurant technology, cloud platforms, third party vendors, and payment environments. The Director will drive a risk based, practical security program that supports business innovation, digital guest experiences, and operational resilience-while ensuring strong compliance with PCI DSS, SOX, privacy regulations, and internal governance standards.

This role is based in Dallas (Coppell), TX and follows a hybrid schedule (3 days in office). We are currently focused on local candidates or those open to relocating to the area at their own expense. At this time, we are unable to provide sponsorship support.

What You'll Do

  • Cybersecurity Strategy & Leadership Define and continuously evolve Brinker's enterprise cybersecurity strategy aligned to business risk, regulatory requirements, and hospitality industry threats.
  • Lead security architecture, threat management, and resilience initiatives across corporate, cloud, and restaurant systems.
  • Translate cyber risk into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership. Threat Detection, Response & Resilience
  • Oversee continuous monitoring, detection, and response capabilities for enterprise and restaurant environments.
  • Lead incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and real-world cyber event handling.
  • Ensure disaster recovery, data protection, and business continuity plans are effective and regularly tested. Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Direct cybersecurity governance, policies, and controls aligned to PCI DSS, SOX, privacy laws, and security frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001.
  • Lead internal and third-party audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing programs.
  • Own enterprise cyber risk assessments and remediation prioritization. Vendor & Third-Party Risk Management
  • Oversee security assessments of technology vendors, suppliers, and service providers supporting restaurants and corporate systems.
  • Ensure contractual and technical controls appropriately mitigate third party cyber risks at scale. Restaurant & Payment Security
  • Protect point of sale, payment processing, and restaurant level technology environments.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI standards and secure handling of guest payment data through training, controls, and oversight. Team Leadership & Culture
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a cybersecurity team spanning engineering, GRC, and operations.
  • Promote security awareness and role-based training for restaurant and corporate team members.
  • Foster a culture where security enables-not inhibits-hospitality, innovation, and speed.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience, with at least 5 years in security leadership roles.
  • Experience securing large, distributed environments (e.g., retail, hospitality, or franchise-based operations).
  • Deep knowledge of:
  • PCI DSS and payment security
  • Incident response and threat detection
  • Vendor risk management
  • Security governance and compliance programs
  • Proven ability to communicate cyber risk clearly to executives and business leaders.
  • Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting cloud, SaaS, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with restaurant technology ecosystems (POS, payment devices, in store networks).
  • Track record of leading security programs through audits, incidents, and business transformation. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.

About Brinker

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

Once upon a long time ago, going out to eat meant either a fancy, pricey, fussy restaurant, or a fast food drive-thru meal handed to you in a greasy paper sack. Our namesake, Norman Brinker, changed all that by pioneering the idea of "casual dining". And he knew an original when he found it. Guests in Chicago knew Maggiano's Little Italy was special when we opened our doors in 1991 on the corner of Clark and Grand. Today, thousands of restaurants later, Brinker International is the name behind good food, good times and great places to work. And Maggiano's is our own little slice of Italian American tradition come to life! Tony Soprano would be so proud.
