Job description

Grayscale is a crypto-focused asset manager. We have over a decade of operational experience managing crypto funds and pioneered the model of offering exposure to cryptocurrencies in the form of a security. We’re proud of our crypto expertise and work closely with individual and institutional investors as they explore this asset class as part of their portfolio allocation.

Position Summary: Grayscale is seeking a Director, Crypto & On-Chain Product to drive the development of new investment products that sit at the intersection of on-chain ecosystems and product development. This role blends deep crypto fluency with structured product thinking. You’ll evaluate emerging protocols, token mechanics, and ecosystem dynamics — then translate those insights into actionable investment ideas, product structures, and go-to-market strategies. You’ll work closely with legal, research, operations, and distribution teams to guide products from concept through launch, and collaborate externally with crypto-native investors, protocol teams, and other stakeholders across the digital asset space. This is a strategic, hands‑on role for someone with a strong blockchain and crypto foundation, clear product instincts, and a desire to help shape the future of institutional crypto investing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and evaluate on-chain investment opportunities, including single tokens, baskets, categories, and structural innovations, grounded in investor demand and ecosystem dynamics.
  • Lead the development and validation of new crypto investment products, from early‑stage thesis through launch readiness.
  • Conduct research into token mechanics, protocol design, and market structure to inform product feasibility and risk assessments.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Legal, Research, Operations, and Distribution to define product specs, pricing models, and go‑to‑market plans.
  • Engage with crypto‑native communities, DAOs, governance forums, and other stakeholders to stay close to ecosystem developments.
  • Communicate product theses, strategy rationale, and performance drivers through internal memos, investor‑facing materials, and dashboards.
  • Contribute to Grayscale’s broader product roadmap and capital formation strategy, helping define where and how institutional capital can access the evolving crypto landscape.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of experience in product management, investment strategy, crypto research, or asset management — with direct exposure to digital assets.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain protocols, tokenomics, and blockchain and crypto market mechanics.
  • Experience translating crypto‑native insights into structured investment products — with an eye toward compliance, scalability, and investor alignment.
  • Familiarity with tools like Dune, Token Terminal, DeFiLlama, Nansen, and experience working with on‑chain data.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex topics clearly, concisely, and credibly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Highly organized and self‑directed; thrives in a fast‑moving environment with evolving priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills — able to lead cross‑functional initiatives from idea to execution.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
