Hotel Director โ€“ Luxury Cruise Operations


Location: Onboard a luxury cruise ship

Contract: Shipboard


About the Role


We are looking for an experienced Hotel Director to lead all hotel operations onboard a luxury cruise ship. This is a senior leadership position responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience while driving operational excellence, financial performance, and team development.

You will oversee multiple departments, including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Entertainment, Finance, IT, Cruise Sales, and other onboard revenue-generating areas. Working closely with the Captain and senior leadership team, you will ensure the highest standards of service, safety, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all hotel operations onboard.
  • Deliver outstanding guest satisfaction through exceptional service and effective issue resolution.
  • Drive departmental performance against operational and financial targets.
  • Manage budgets, revenue, expenses, and inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Develop and motivate department leaders while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and increase onboard revenue.
  • Maintain company standards across all guest-facing areas.
  • Collaborate with senior officers to ensure smooth day-to-day ship operations.


Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior leadership role within a luxury hotel or cruise environment or experience in high volume hotel (more than 1000 rooms).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing large, multicultural teams.
  • Strong business acumen with knowledge of budgeting, operations, and strategic planning.
  • Understanding of guest service excellence and hospitality standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
