What You'll Do
  • Direct supervision of three or less warehouse/driver associates. Participates in hiring process and formal performance evaluations. Approve timecards, create schedules as necessary.
  • Ensuring the warehouse is secure, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and ensuring their safe use.
  • Following federal, state, and local regulations for warehousing, shipping, and material handling.
  • Creating systems for organization and communication and ensuring efficient space utilization.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards, safety training certifications and ensuring the safety of staff. Read customer orders to determine items to be gathered and distributed.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving areas to storage areas. Sort and place materials or items on racks or other storage areas according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or in boxes. Convey orders to staging areas and/or onto trucks for delivery.
  • Mark materials with identifying information. Record amount of materials or items received and distributed. Perform data entry of records into the computer.
  • Complete requisition forms to order materials from other company locations. Prepare parcels for mail. Perform physical counts of existing inventory and maintains inventory records.
  • Act as back-up when delivery driver is unavailable.
