Warehouse Supervisor – 1st Shift (Weekends Required)

Location: East Side of Indianapolis (near Shadeland Ave & English Ave)
Schedule: 1st Shift | 5:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay: $61,800 annually

Employment Type: Full-Time | Union Environment


Important Schedule & Job Requirements
This position requires a consistent weekend schedule. Please apply only if you are comfortable with the following:
  • Work 5 days per week, including BOTH Saturday and Sunday (non-negotiable)
  • Receive two consecutive weekday days off
  • Work most holidays (facility closes only on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day)
  • Steel-toe or composite-toe footwear is required
  • Attendance and punctuality are critical
  • Union environment (prior union experience preferred, not required)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead day-to-day warehouse operations on the 1st shift. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong people skills, warehouse operations experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unionized environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily warehouse operations to meet productivity, safety, and quality goals
  • Lead, coach, and support warehouse associates in a union environment
  • Conduct regular floor walks to monitor operations, address concerns, and answer employee questions
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, inventory control, and customer service standards
  • Schedule and lead safety meetings
  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, training, and assist with performance reviews and discipline
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and workflow
  • Ensure proper use of warehouse equipment and maintain facility security
  • Enforce company policies and all federal, state, and local regulations
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years of warehouse or logistics experience
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Union experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations and WMS systems
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office); typing speed of 25 WPM minimum
  • Strong organization, planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, and be on the warehouse floor for extended periods
