Job description

Director (RN) Case Management

Full-Time | 0.8–1.0 FTE | Western Montana
The Opportunity
This is a newly opened Director-level position at a well-established, Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospital in Western Montana. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, you will have real authority to shape and grow the case management program — not inherit a rigid structure, but build on a strong foundation with executive-level backing.
A $20,000 sign-on bonus (two-year commitment) and up to $10,000 in relocation assistance with receipts are available for the right candidate.
Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on experience.
The Role
As Director of Case Management, you will lead the case management function across the hospital, overseeing the nursing process from patient admission through discharge or transfer. You will act as a patient advocate, a program leader, and a mentor — working at the intersection of clinical care, operational efficiency, and patient outcomes.
This is a hands-on director role with meaningful scope: you will influence care coordination strategy, support a skilled case management team, and serve as a key voice at the nursing leadership table.
What You Bring
- Current Montana RN license (or eligibility to obtain)
- At least one year of hospital case management leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MSN, Healthcare Administration, or MBA) strongly preferred
- BLS certification
- Two to five years of hospital case management leadership experience preferred
- A genuine interest in building and developing programs, not just maintaining them
What We Offer
- $20,000 sign-on bonus with a two-year commitment
- Up to $10,000 relocation assistance with receipts
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Flexible spending and health savings accounts
- Competitive paid time off and extended illness bank
- Life, accident, critical injury, short- and long-term disability, and identity theft coverage
- Tuition reimbursement, loan assistance, and 401(k) matching
- Employee assistance program covering mental, physical, and financial wellness
- Professional development and growth support
Why Western Montana
Western Montana is not a compromise — it is a destination. The region sits in a broad river valley ringed by the Bitterroot, Rattlesnake, and Mission mountain ranges, with world-class fly fishing on the Clark Fork, trail systems that open the moment the snow lifts, and a university town energy that keeps the cultural calendar alive year-round. Winters are real but navigable. Summers are genuinely spectacular. The cost of living remains low relative to comparable outdoor recreation markets, and the community has a sense of place — locally owned restaurants, a thriving arts scene, independent bookstores — that larger metros rarely match. If you have been watching Montana from a distance, this is a legitimate entry point.

About the Organization
This is a 150-bed acute care community hospital, Joint Commission-accredited, with roots in the region going back to 1922. It operates as part of a diversified national healthcare delivery network with acute care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health facilities across the country — which means the stability and resources of a larger system alongside the culture and community presence of a standalone community hospital. The nursing leadership team is cohesive and the CNO sponsorship of this role is active.
