Director Cloud Financial Analyst Jobs in Spring, TX

Senior Oracle Cloud Financial Systems Specialist is a key member of the Finance Systems and Reporting department and plays a critical role in implementing, optimizing, and managing Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules on a day-to-day basis. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Financial and Research Systems, this hybrid role involves hands‑on functional and technical management of Oracle Cloud financial modules, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and budgeting functionality. You will collaborate closely with finance stakeholders, system administrators, and technology partners to ensure business processes operate efficiently, system stability, and alignment with business processes. This role requires both the ability to partner effectively across departments and strong technical expertise to support the university's financial operations.

This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. This position requires you to be in the office 2-3 days a month, and for certain meetings and events when required. The employee will be responsible for their own travel expenses. Per Rice policy 440, work arrangements may be subject to change.

$122,496 – $155,000 annually. Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
  • In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on a year-for-year basis, may be substituted.
• Four or more (4+) years of related experience, including Oracle Cloud ERP administration, financial module management, or related enterprise applications.
  • In lieu of the experience requirement, additional related education, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year-for-year basis may be substituted.

• Business systems process mapping
• Proficiency with Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules (AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Budgeting).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities for complex technical applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively on team projects, and adapt to changing business needs.
• Knowledge of financial business processes and higher education financial systems.
• Experience with system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, management information systems, or related field.
• 5 to 7 years of hands‑on experience with Oracle Cloud ERP in a functional or technical support role.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP implementations, system upgrades, or configuration projects.
• Experience with Oracle analytics tools (OTBI, BI Publisher (SQL), Oracle Analytics Cloud) or data management platforms.
• Experience in higher education, financial management and operations.

• Provide functional and technical expertise and day‑to‑day support for Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules.
• Document system configurations, customizations, and processes to ensure knowledge continuity and support system maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in collaboration with internal IT teams and Oracle support or Oracle consultants as needed.
• Participate in system optimization initiatives, including configuration reviews, data quality assessments, and process improvements.
• Support implementation projects, system upgrades, and enhancements to Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules.
• Serve as a technical resource to finance teams on Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities and best practices.
• Conduct user training and support on system functionality, process changes, and new features.
• Assist with ad hoc analyses and reporting support to finance leadership as needed.
• Monitor system performance, security, and controls; recommend improvements in alignment with university policies and financial best practices.
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance Systems and Reporting, the Controller's office, Rice Office of Technology Systems & Services, and external partners on financial system initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
