(Agency Equivalent: SVP, Client Services)

Job Overview

IQVIA is seeking a Director of Client Services to lead strategic client relationships, oversee delivery excellence across assigned accounts, and drive growth, retention, and operational performance within a healthcare communications environment for our Simpson Healthcare team. This leader will be accountable for strengthening client partnerships, ensuring high-quality delivery across complex projects, and developing high-performing teams that consistently meet or exceed client expectations.

The Director will serve as a senior client partner and internal team leader, balancing relationship management, project oversight, commercial growth, and people leadership. The role requires a proven ability to manage senior stakeholders, guide cross-functional teams, identify opportunities for expanded client support, and ensure work is delivered on time, on budget, on strategy, and in alignment with relevant policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership and Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain trusted, professional relationships with client stakeholders by understanding their roles, communication preferences, business priorities, and desired outcomes.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to clients, helping them achieve brand, project, and business objectives through proactive guidance and strong account stewardship.
  • Ensure the organization is represented professionally and consistently across client interactions, communications, meetings, and deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services that support client priorities and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Attend and support key client engagements, including status meetings, brand planning sessions, workshops, advisory boards, speaker trainings, and congress-related activities.
  • Conduct regular account check-ins with clients to assess relationship health, identify risks, and determine opportunities for improvement.

Project and Delivery Oversight

  • Oversee delivery of all projects for assigned clients, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, error-free, on strategy, and within applicable policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor project progress, budget alignment, timelines, quality standards, and scope changes across assigned accounts.
  • Ensure internal teams and third-party vendors are aligned on expectations, timelines, deliverables, quality, and budget requirements.
  • Partner with project leads and finance stakeholders to support accurate phasing, invoicing, forecasting, and financial reporting for assigned clients.
  • Maintain working knowledge of assigned products, disease areas, brand strategy, company goals, and client business priorities.
  • Collaborate with client services teams to prepare and deliver client pitches, presentations, and metrics with a focus on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop client services team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and high-quality execution.
  • Supervise and train staff members, creating opportunities for expanded responsibilities, skill development, and professional growth.
  • Provide regular feedback, conduct one-on-one meetings, support performance management activities, and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Assign projects based on team member experience, growth goals, capacity, and business needs.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to support project delivery, resolve changes in scope or priority, and improve overall team effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, tools, processes, and resource planning to support client and business objectives.

Organic Growth and Commercial Leadership

  • Own revenue growth and retention for assigned accounts by driving renewals, expansion opportunities, and strong client partnerships.
  • Guide client services teams on operational process, strategic approach, and innovative solutions that align with client and business objectives.
  • Serve as a senior reviewer in the final statement of work approval process.
  • Provide senior-level oversight of pipeline tracking, phasing, and financial forecast reporting to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Support management of master services agreements, ensuring agreements are current, compliant, and aligned with client relationships and business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business, Science, or a related field.
  • 14+ years of experience in medical communications, healthcare marketing, scientific agency, or a related client services environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing senior client relationships and leading complex, multi-stakeholder accounts.
  • Exceptional people management, mentoring, and team leadership experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to leverage internal and external relationships to support project, client, and business success.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word; experience with project management systems is preferred.
  • Experience using web-conferencing tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and curious leader with a strong drive for continuous improvement, learning, and innovation.
