Location & Salary

Position: Associate Director – Chief Engineer, AF DCGS High Band Mission Applications Software (HBMAS) Sustainment and Development Program

Location: Aurora, CO, United States

Salary Range: $157,200 – $298,800 (USD)

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the program’s top technical authority and be accountable for technical cost and schedule.
  • Own and maintain the system architecture, cloud strategy, modernization roadmap, and the technical baseline.
  • Guide iterative Agile development, including sprint reviews, backlog prioritization, and PI planning sessions.
  • Direct engineering execution across software development, systems engineering, cyber engineering, DevSecOps, test/QA, design support, and field services.
  • Lead customer‑facing technical discussions, architecture reviews, and continuous coordination with AF DCGS engineering and operations teams.
  • Oversee requirements, design, integration, verification, deployment, and sustainment activities.
  • Manage program‑level technical risks, opportunities, and performance measures.
  • Mentor senior engineers, architects, product owners, and discipline leads.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience or 10 years with an advanced degree in a related STEM field.
  • Expertise in software‑intensive systems, cloud architectures, secure data workflows, cyber engineering, and DevSecOps.
  • Experience with classified operational systems and the DoD 8570 IAT‑II certification (Security+ or higher).
  • Active, transferable TS/SCI clearance required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Preferred: Experience with AF DCGS or ISR mission systems, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or rapid capability fielding.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to align technical execution with evolving customer needs.
