Education

A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field preferred; specialized banking education and training related to sales and community banking.

Experience

A minimum of seven (7) years of proven leadership in consumer banking and sales leadership roles.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for leading the identification, integration and optimization of innovative sales initiatives and dynamic growth opportunities in the consumer banking arena.

Also responsible for overseeing the performance of the consumer banking staff that includes retail banking centers and Private Client production, in order to meet the needs of customers and staff and; developing, implementing, aligning, and achieving annual goals and objectives as established in each Region’s annual operating plan; ensuring each banking center’s compliance with various operating policies and procedures and various regulatory requirements; supervising assigned personnel; communicating and interfacing with all consumer banking and management personnel.

Essential Duties

  1.  Leads the Retail Banking Centers in order to deliver a strong brand that meets the needs of customers and staff of which the following are illustrative:
    1. In conjunction with the Banking Center Sales Managers, is responsible for the retail & private banking group deposit and loan growth budgets.
    2. Assume full ownership of all major responsibilities across direct reports, as well as leading major initiatives identified within the Consumer Banking Arena. 
    3. Maintain a thorough knowledge of teller function, new account opening and consumer loan process.
    4. Reviews market research to assess market characteristics, sales trends, customers, financial service’s needs, competitive climate, etc.
    5. Jointly establishes individual sales objectives with the Banking Center Sales Managers & Private Banking Director.
    6. Drive banking center performance, deposit and loan growth, products & services, and customer satisfaction through visible leadership, performance management, and problem resolution.
    7. Monitors customer service and sales performance in each region on a regular basis; takes action to implement changes in the objectives or correct performance problems.
    8. Diagnoses and analyzes data to identify performance gaps.
    9. Works closely with the CRM Integration Team and Digital Banking Officer to drive adoption, training, and ROI of Salesforce and nCino systems. 
  2. Optimization of Business Line Key Initiatives
    1. Works hand-in-hand with the CEO and Consumer Banking staff to identify and implement sales strategies, objectives, and initiatives to deliver business line and corporate growth goals.
    2. Works with Consumer Banking staff to optimize the integration of key data and sales strategies to deliver breakthrough results.
    3. As Consumer Banking leader, participates with CEO and Management in the annual budgeting and strategic thinking/planning process to ensure alignment of sales initiatives and resource planning.
    4. Leads appropriate Operating Mechanisms required to deliver seamless communication to all Consumer Banking staff.
    5. Integrates and participates with Digital Banking Officer (DBO) to ensure appropriate platform, innovation and alignment. 
  3. Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:
    1. Identifies a pipeline of diverse talent for current needs as well as developing future leaders.
    2. Selects new personnel as appropriate.
    3. Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
    4. Reviews employee performance throughout the probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
    5. Coaches retail staff on a daily basis to ensure world-class service is maintained through knowledge and confidence in our staff.
    6. Drives a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
    7. Ensures all Consumer Banking staff are knowledgeable about bank products and services.
    8. Acts as an advisor to the Banking Center Sales Managers & Director of Private Client Group to ensure that business processes and a branded customer experience are being implemented consistently.
    9. Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the division and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.
    10. Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by bank policy.

Additional Duties 

  1. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  2. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and The Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Customer Identification Program (CIP), Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.; ensures that retail offices and all personnel adhere to the same.
  3. Coordinates departmental tasks with coworkers inside and outside the department in order to ensure an efficient process and the completion of essential tasks needing proper segregation of duties.
  4. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; complies information as necessary or as directed and provides date to appropriate bank personnel.
  5. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  6. Communicates and interfaces with other regions and management personnel as part of the management team in order to integrate objectives and activities.
  7. Provides periodic reports to the President/CEO and other groups, committees, or individuals as required.
  8. Represents the consumer banking division in strategic meetings, reporting cycles, and planning sessions.
