Job description

Clinical Program Director - Overview

The Clinical Program Director is responsible for the management and strategic growth of the Wound Care Program and other wound care continuum programs for the assigned area of responsibility. They oversee the Wound Care Center (WCC®) operations, including day‑to‑day management, staff and financial management, quality and performance improvement, community education, and clinical functions oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Center’s Operations (20%) – oversee day‑to‑day clinic operations, evaluate clinic flow, implement best practices, ensure resource availability, and direct clinical and non‑clinical staff.
  • Perform Financial Management (10%) – manage revenue cycle, stay current with reimbursement changes, review financial reports, and present findings to hospital leadership.
  • Manage Community Education / Marketing Functions (20%) – develop strategic marketing plans, coordinate referral development, maintain physician practice lists, visit physician practices, document interactions, and report to leadership.
  • Oversee Quality / Performance Improvement (10%) – implement continuous improvement program, ensure alignment with hospital PIP, monitor satisfaction and safety, and document outcomes.
  • Direct Clinical Functions (20%) – coordinate clinical activities, direct staff, conduct patient assessments, manage case‑management duties, perform hyperbaric related tasks when appropriate.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships (15%) – maintain relationships with hospital clients, align program goals, participate in hospital meetings, and demonstrate value proposition.
Required Education, Experience and Credentials

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license must be maintained throughout employment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or related field and 1 year of marketing/community education or clinical operations experience;
  • Associate’s degree in the same fields and 2+ years of marketing/community education or clinical operations experience;
  • 4+ years of marketing/community education or clinical operations experience.

Management experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Competency in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accrediting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, customer service, follow‑up, organization, and time‑management skills.
  • Leadership, teaching, relationship‑building, influencing and team‑building skills.
  • Budgeting and strategic planning ability.
  • Ability to travel overnight.
Physical Demands
  • Stationary position (>4 hours), computer screen viewing, frequent keyboard use, and close, distance, peripheral vision.
  • Reading, communicating, writing.
  • Lifting/moving up to 75 pounds with assistance, pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching/grasping.
  • Traveling distances (car, airplane).
  • Color perception and sound detection.
Work Environment

Normal office environment with primarily indoor setting and patient care environment. Exposure to hazards such as blood‑borne pathogens, toxic chemicals, flammable gases, mechanical equipment, and moving objects.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is generally between $96,900.00 and $128,500.00 annually.
