Job description

Director, Business Development — Hotel Sector

Mehr Consultancy | Irving, TX (Dallas–Fort Worth) Salary: Starting at $80,000 + performance-based bonus structure

About Mehr Consultancy

Mehr Consultancy is an award-winning hotel management and investment firm headquartered in Dallas–Fort Worth. Founded by second-generation hoteliers, we manage a nationwide portfolio of 37 hotels across 16 states and 7 brands, with more than 4,200 rooms and 700+ associates. We're trusted by owners seeking more than management — delivering owner-aligned decisions, transparent operations, and people-first leadership.

Why join Mehr? You'll work directly alongside seasoned hospitality leaders on deals and projects that shape a rapidly growing portfolio. We offer a seat at the table early in your career, real exposure to ownership-level decision-making, and the chance to build expertise across management, acquisitions, and investments — all within a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture that invests in its people.

Position Summary

We're looking for a Director, Business Development to support Mehr's growth initiatives across hotel management contracts, acquisitions, and investment opportunities. This role partners closely with leadership to identify, evaluate, and close new clients in the hospitality sector.

What We're Looking For (and What We're Not)

This is not a sales role. We're not looking for a quota-filler, a cold-call closer, or someone chasing commissions. If your playbook is high-volume outreach and transactional wins, this isn't the right fit.

We're looking for a trusted advisor in the making. Someone who builds genuine, long-term relationships with hotel owners and investors — not because a pipeline demands it, but because they're genuinely curious about each client's goals and committed to helping them succeed. The right candidate leads with insight, not a pitch. They listen first, ask sharp questions, and bring real analytical value to every conversation.

At Mehr, business development is a consultative craft. You'll earn trust by doing the work: running the numbers, understanding the asset, and showing owners a clearer path forward. Deals follow relationships — not the other way around.

Job Description & Responsibilities
  • Research and identify prospective hotel management, acquisition, and investment opportunities across target U.S. markets
  • Maintain the business development pipeline and CRM in monday.com ensuring accurate reporting of leads, conversions, and deal status
  • Support consulting projects across the Mehr portfolio, delivering data-driven recommendations to owners and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct financial analysis and build proformas for prospective hotel deals, acquisitions, and management opportunities
  • Develop underwriting scenarios, ROI analyses, and financial models for new business initiatives
  • Prepare pitch decks, proposals, and owner-facing presentations to support business development efforts
  • Support due diligence on acquisitions and new management takeovers, coordinating across operations, finance, and legal
  • Track industry trends, competitor activity, brand performance, and market data (STR, CoStar, etc.) to inform strategy
  • Conference travel, meet new hotel clients and build hospitality network. Be an additional face of the organization within the industry.
Required Qualifications
  • Familiarity with hotel P&Ls, STR reports, and underwriting
  • Ability to travel as needed for site visits, owner meetings, and consulting engagements
  • Must be based near a major airport for efficient nationwide travel
  • Strong technology and software literacy, preferably Slack, Monday, Google Workspace, Canva, Excel/ Google Sheets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable building client-ready decks
  • Highly organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive references, solid reputation and ability to be discreet
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Hospitality, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience as an analyst or in a similar role within the hospitality field (ie. brokerage analyst, lending analyst)
  • Based in the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) metro area
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary starting at $80,000, commensurate with experience
  • Performance-based bonus structure tied to growth and deal milestones
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Career development within a growing, nationally recognized hospitality firm

Join a people-first, owner-aligned firm where your work directly shapes portfolio growth. We offer competitive compensation, career development, and a collaborative culture built on performance and purpose.
