Director of Sports Administration and Championships Operations job at Women Leaders in Sports. Las Vegas, NV. The Mountain West (MW), an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision and College Football Playoff athletic conference, is accepting applications for the position of Director, Sports Administration & Championships Operations. Reporting to the Associate Commissioner, Sports Administration & Championships, the Director of Sports Administration and Championships Operations will serve the Conference and its member institutions to manage day-to-day aspects of the Conferenceโ€™s sports administration and championships for assigned sports, as well as operations, onsite office management, and other duties as assigned. Overall Impact of this position is to ensure the efficient administration of the Conference Championships and office administration and that it complies with NCAA and MW policy, while safeguarding a positive Student-Athlete experience and well-being, and maintaining focus on initiatives designed to elevate MW to the highest possible levels of performance and exposure.

Utilizing this member-centered approach is consistent with the MWโ€™s mission to cultivate opportunities for student-athletes to compete at the highest level while fostering academic achievement and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities Championships
  • Administration and execution of assigned championships.
  • Basketball Championship game management, support, (i.e., locker rooms, court/bench setup, equipment, etc.).
  • Assist with inventory management and overall support, as requested.
  • Maintain general championships documents.
  • Participate in and facilitate championships planning meetings and conference calls, as appropriate.
  • Liaison to championship vendors (e.g., championship gifts, apparel, hospitality, digital signage, credentials, insurance, etc.).
  • Assist with the implementation of annual marketing and branding strategy at championship events.
  • Coordinator and on-site contact for all MW championship officials for sports assigned.
  • Support the creation and execution of staff supply lists/requests and ship supplies to appropriate addresses.
  • Assist at MW Tip-Off event and Football Media Day.
  • Active engagement with regular season and championship policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the production of championship-related events, collateral, and signage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams regarding external affairs, and sponsorship fulfillment at championship events.
  • Support the ordering and delivery of awards for championships.
  • Oversee NCAA automatic qualification notification for respective sport assignments.
Sports Administration
  • Execution of Sport Administration for assigned sports. Sport assignments are subject to change.

  • Conduct staff liaison responsibilities for the head coachesโ€™ group.
  • Monitor and communicate national and Conference issues.
  • Assist with the creation, review, and management of scheduling.
  • Serve as primary contact to the coordinator of officials. Assist with managing Conference officiating programs. Including but not limited to issue management, background checks, contracts, assignment review, and support for officiating software and payments.
  • Monitor and enforce NCAA and MW sport-specific policies.
  • Act as the secondary contact for MW official apparel execution.
  • Support Championships and other Conference governance groups.
Operations
  • Daily in-office management of facilities, equipment, storage, and occasionally IT.
  • Primary responsibility for local in-office meetings.
  • Local onsite contact for weekly IT in-person visits.
  • Assist in managing information technology and equipment.
  • Coordinate facilities, office supplies, office equipment, inventory, and storage.
  • Manage and assist with Championships with shipping, receiving, and ticketing.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of in-office Conference meetings, events, and celebrations.
  • Assist Controller with liaising with building management company (currently Crescent).
Human Resources
  • Assist with local, onsite human resource activities.
  • Assist with the coordination of local, onsite terminations/exits including technology access and equipment.
  • Point of contact and coordinator for local, onsite on-boarding and off-boarding checklists and distribution/collection of Conference equipment.
Compliance
  • Ensure Conference operations in area of responsibility comply with NCAA and MW policy.
Student-Athlete
  • Ensure Student-Athlete Experience and Well-Being is a priority in all Conference initiatives.
