 Job Description 

Position:  Multilingual Services Facilitator

Reports to:  Director of Multilingual Services

Qualifications/Skills: 

1. Professional Educator License with BSPA or ESL Education endorsement or related certification.
2. Valid General Administrative endorsement preferred, but not required.
3. Proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred
4. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, support staff, students, and families.
5. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment to solve problems and implement solutions.
6. Ability to analyze and interpret student achievement and language proficiency data to support program improvement and instructional decision-making.
7. Capacity to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, particularly related to compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
8. Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and adhere to established policies and procedures. 

Terms of Employment: BEA contract - Nine (9) Months, extended contract days if approved by supervisor. 

Basic Function: Assist the Director of Multilingual Services to support all multilingual programming and services that would affect personnel and instruction. The Multilingual Services Facilitator supports the implementation and continuous improvement of district multilingual education programs serving students in grades PreK12. The Facilitator collaborates with district and building staff to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, promote effective instructional practices, coordinate language assessment systems, support curriculum implementation, and improve outcomes for multilingual learners.

Performance Responsibilities:  

1. Coordinate curriculum, instructional resources, and program implementation efforts for multilingual education, supporting fidelity of implementation across the district.
2. Advocate for multilingual students and their families throughout the educational process.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of long-term plans for multilingual services aligned with district strategic goals.
4. Coordinate and deliver professional development for teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators.
5. Coordinate and support procedures for the evaluation, placement, and annual review of multilingual students.
6. Collaborate with building administrators to support the consistent implementation of multilingual education programs, policies, and procedures across the district.
7. Monitor student enrollment and provide recommendations regarding programming, scheduling, and resource allocation.
8. Coordinate language proficiency assessments and ensure appropriate accommodations for multilingual students in all testing scenarios.
9. Assist building administration with the coordination of multilingual students' schedules and/or services.
10. Communicate and collaborate with the Director of Multilingual Services regarding program needs, staffing considerations, and student impacts.
11. Assist building administration with multilingual-level events, i.e. school assemblies, family nights, or student/community resources.
12. Stay informed of research and emerging practices in multilingual education.
13. Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and ongoing support for international and multilingual educators in collaboration with Human Resources and the Director of Multilingual Services.
14. Maintain, analyze, and report multilingual student assessment data, including ACCESS outcomes, STAMP results, and language proficiency growth to support program planning and student success.
15. Coordinate and support district processes related to the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy and Commendation Toward Biliteracy, including student identification, communication, and recognition activities.
16. Facilitate transition planning and meetings, such as middle-to-high school transitions, to ensure a smooth process for multilingual students.
17. Participate in staffing projections and resource planning based on enrollment trends and program needs.
18. Work with external agencies to support multilingual students' post-secondary transitions and opportunities.
19. Provide instructional leadership, coaching, and professional support to multilingual education staff.
20. Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
