Description
Assists with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. Maintains environment that is prepared for patient care. Assist in other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements
Medical Terminology
Ability to communicate in an effective and efficient manner with all documentation, and with all coworkers, patients, visitors and physicians.
Ability to comply with all organizational policies.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current EMT Certification with IV certification
Current BLS Certification
Basic arrhythmia course (may obtain within six (6) months of hire)
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Continuous movement throughout the hospital
Intermittent bending, kneeling, and squatting
Ability to lift up to 30% of your body weight
Continuous standing (up to 7 hours)
Ability to read and understand Basic English
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to interact with patients, families and staff in a professional manner in stressful situations.
Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
