The Regional Director of Private Banking is a senior leader responsible for executing the business development, revenue growth, client engagement, and performance strategy for the Private Banking business within an assigned region. This role leads Private Banking Group Managers and their teams, driving consistent execution of sales strategies, client management practices, and risk standards across markets. The Regional Director is accountable for regional performance outcomes, including asset growth, deposit growth, and fee income generation. Under functional guidance from the Senior Director of Private Banking, this role translates business strategy into disciplined regional execution, ensuring alignment across markets while strengthening client relationships and referral networks. The Regional Director may engage as a secondary relationship leader on select high net worth client relationships, supporting business development and retention efforts.

Regional Business Performance

  • Own regional performance with accountability for asset growth, revenue generation, client retention, and relationship expansion across assigned markets.
  • Execute business strategies and performance expectations established by Private Banking leadership.
  • Monitor and drive key performance metrics (e.g., deposits, loans, fee income, pipeline activity, and client retention).

Sales Leadership & Business Development

  • Drive disciplined execution of business development strategies through Private Banking Group Managers and their teams.
  • Reinforce expectations for pipeline management, client acquisition, and relationship deepening across all markets.
  • Support and participate in key client and prospect opportunities to advance regional growth and retention.

Leadership & Team Effectiveness

  • Lead and develop Private Banking Group Managers, providing coaching, direction, and performance management to drive leader and team effectiveness.
  • Ensure strong leadership practices across teams, including goal setting, accountability, and talent development.
  • Drive consistency in execution, culture, and client service standards across markets.

Client & Market Engagement

  • Maintain strong presence across the region, engaging with high net worth clients, centers of influence, and key referral partners.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact on select complex or high-value client relationships to support relationship continuity and growth.
  • Strengthen market positioning by identifying opportunities and supporting local execution strategies.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Consumer Banking, Mortgage, and other business lines to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Reinforce cross-sell behaviors and collaboration across teams to maximize relationship value.
  • Support alignment of Private Banking activities with broader bank initiatives and strategies.

Risk Management & Credit Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to credit, regulatory, and risk management standards across the regional portfolio.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on credit quality, portfolio management, and compliance practices.
  • Reinforce a strong risk culture and ensure alignment with enterprise policies and procedures.

What you'll bring:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field

Master's Degree or relevant advanced degree Business, Finance, Accounting or related field, preferred

12+ years of progressive experience in private banking, commercial banking, wealth management, or related financial services.

12+ years of demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and revenue growth in a banking environment.

10+ years of leadership experience managing managers or senior individual contributors across multiple teams or markets.

10+ years of proven ability to execute sales strategies and drive performance across a defined region or business segment.

10+ years of strong knowledge of credit, risk management, and regulatory requirements in a banking environment.

Licenses and certifications-Preferred.
