Director, Automation & Controls Engineering

We are currently seeking a new Director of Automation and Controls to play a crucial role in integrating advanced automation technologies across global operations, enhancing safety, efficiency, and operational excellence. As the new Director of Automation and Controls, you will foster innovation, ensure accountability in execution, and champion the well-being of employees by leveraging automation to create safer and smarter workplaces. You will be based onsite in Rockrimmon, CO.

What You'll Do:

  • Empower People: Build, lead and mentor a global automation & controls team Foster collaboration and continuous growth. Ensure automation strategies enhance employee safety and operational efficiency.
  • Drive Accountability: Establish clear objectives and measurable outcomes for automation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals. Maintain compliance with international regulations and industry standards. Ensure successful completion of FAT and SAT of Automation & Controls projects.
  • Fuel Creativity: Identify and implement groundbreaking automation solutions, integrating robotics, AI, and IoT to push the boundaries of manufacturing innovation.
  • Deliver Excellence: Create and implement an Automation strategy that delivers safety, precision, reliability, and peak operational performance of automated cells/ lines / systems in the division's factories.
  • Be a Technology Leader: Stay concurrent with Industry trends and Technology advances and promote or champion adoption to right applications in the Division's factories.
  • Integrate Technology: Oversee the selection and deployment of automation and control systems across all plants globally.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with engineering, IT, OT, and supply chain teams to ensure secure and seamless automation implementation.
  • Engage with Industry and Vendor Partners: Cultivate strong partnerships with technology providers and stay ahead of emerging automation trends.

What We Seek:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10-15 years of leadership experience in automation and controls within a global manufacturing setting.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of industrial automation, PLC/DCS systems, robotics, AI-driven automation, and IoT integration.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale automation projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Global Experience: Understanding of diverse manufacturing environments and international compliance standards.

  • Compensation: $170,000-$215,000 year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
