Job description

Job Title: Senior Director, Business Development & Capture
Clearance Required: Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance
Work Location: Hybrid: Vienna, VA We are seeking a strategic Senior Director, Business Development & Capture, to drive new business development, specifically targeting new accounts and sectors within the DoD (experience with Army clients is a plus). The ideal candidate will possess a bias toward action and a strong background in identifying, qualifying, and capturing opportunities, coupled with a capability to explain how technological products and solutions can address potential customer’s needs. In addition, this individual will manage Alpha Omega’s Mentor Protégé and Joint Venture relationships. The primary goal is to foster business development, strengthen supply chains, and win federal contracts set aside for small businesses. Key Responsibilities: * Market Analysis and Qualification: * Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends, new market segments, and growth opportunities within the DOD (Army connections are a plus) sector. * Identify and prioritize target accounts and sectors based on strategic fit and growth potential. * Qualify leads and opportunities that with organizational capabilities, and develop tailored growth strategies and capture plans to secure new business. * Demonstrated ability to sell both products and services * Customer Engagement, Relationship Management, and Capture: * Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in target accounts and sectors. * Engage proactively with customers to understand their challenges, requirements, and strategic objectives, and position our solutions effectively. * Expertise explaining how technological products and solutions can benefit potential customers. * Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in the development of competitive proposals, ensuring alignment with capture strategies and customer expectations. * Drive the BD lifecycle process from opportunity identification through capture phase * Management of Mentor Protégé and Joint Venture Relationships: * Experience acting as the primary point of contact between protégé firms to support ongoing mentorship and joint business development and marketing efforts. * Experience overseeing the management of Joint Venture entities, including structuring agreements. * Screen and select partners, draft agreements, and develop strategic plans that enhance the protégé’s technical and management capabilities. Required Qualifications: Education: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Experience/Skills: * Minimum of 5+ years of experience in full lifecycle business development, with a proven track record of success in identifying, qualifying, and capturing new business opportunities within the DOD sector (Army experience preferred). * Ability to understand technology products and solutions and skillfully explain their application in addressing customer challenges and driving business growth. * Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across internal and external stakeholders. * Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative growth strategies in emerging markets. * Experience managing Mentor Protégé Joint Venture relationships Salary and Benefit Information: The likely salary range for this position is $165,000 - $196,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
