SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.Job Description Summary:The Director, Accounting Advisory and Strategic Programs will serve an important role within SOLV Energy's Accounting organization, supporting the Chief Accounting Officer and accounting leadership team on complex, high-priority initiatives spanning accounting transformation, external audit readiness, mergers and acquisitions, internal controls, technical accounting, and financial reporting.The role is designed for an experienced accounting professional with broad public-company expertise who can move effectively across functional areas, lead complex programs, and provide additional technical and execution capacity where the organization faces its most significant accounting and reporting challenges. The position will work in close partnership with SOLV's Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Project Accounting, Tax, Internal Audit, and other finance teams while maintaining clear functional ownership within those organizations.Job Description:*This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.Position Responsibilities and Duties:Finance Transformation & Close Process OptimizationSupport cross-functional accounting transformation initiatives focused on strengthening and automating accounting processes and accelerating the monthly and quarterly close cyclesParticipate in the development and deployment of analytics and workflow automation solutions to reduce manual processes, increase operational efficiency, and enhance risk-based monitoring capabilitiesExternal Audit CoordinationSupport the CAO and functional accounting leaders in coordinating the Company’s external audit and quarterly review activities, including cross-functional planning, issue tracking, deliverable management, and escalation of significant mattersCoordinate the preparation-by-client (PBC) request process and audit status reporting, facilitate timely resolution of audit open items with functional owners, and drive completion of audit deliverables within required reporting timelinesM&A SupportSupport financial accounting due diligence for acquisition targets, including assessment of accounting policies, quality of earnings considerations, and identification of potential GAAP conversion or harmonization requirements.Evaluate target company financial statements for technical accounting risks, off-balance sheet exposures, and areas requiring post-close remediationCoordinate the accounting integration workstream for acquisitions, partnering with Technical Accounting on purchase accounting conclusions and with functional accounting teams on opening balances, policies, close integration, controls, and reportingSupport purchase price allocation processes in coordination with SOLV’s Technical Accounting team, valuation specialists, legal counsel, and finance leadershipSupport post-acquisition accounting policy harmonization and integration of acquired entities into existing close processes, internal control frameworks, and SOX compliance programsSOX 404 Compliance & Internal ControlsSupport the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of SOX 404 internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) with process and control owners, covering business process and entity-level controlsSupport remediation planning and execution for material weaknesses and significant deficiencies, partnering with control owners, Internal Audit, management, and the external auditor to achieve sustainable closureAdvise management on risk assessments, control design evaluations, and testing approaches to maintain a strong and audit-ready control environmentTechnical Accounting SupportPartner with SOLV’s Technical Accounting function on complex U.S. GAAP technical accounting matters including revenue recognition (ASC 606, percentage-of-completion), business combinations (ASC 805), lease accounting (ASC 842), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), segment reporting (ASC 280), and impairment analyses (ASC 350)Support functional accounting owners and the Technical Accounting team in evaluating and resolving complex auditor inquiries. Provide accounting advisory and audit-readiness support to SOLV's Financial Reporting team in connection with Forms 10-K, 10-Q, registration statements, and other SEC reporting requirements.Provide input on a comprehensive suite of accounting policies aligned with U.S. GAAP and public company reporting standardsMinimum Skills or Experience Requirements:Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required10 to 15 years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 5 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm at the Senior Manager level or aboveDemonstrated experience with SEC reporting (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, S-1) and public company financial reporting requirementsHands-on SOX 404 experience including ICFR design, operating effectiveness testing, and material weakness or significant deficiency remediationPrior experience supporting an IPO, public company transition, or first-year external audit engagementDeep technical proficiency in U.S. GAAP including ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 842, ASC 280, and ASC 350Experience advising C-suite executives in a fast-paced, high-growth environmentStrong communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership skillsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams platformsPreferred Skills or Experience:Experience in the renewable energy, utility-scale solar, energy storage, or infrastructure / EPC construction industriesFamiliarity with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition under ASC 606 in a construction or project-based business environmentBackground in developing data analytics or accounting workflow automation to improve close efficiency and reporting accuracySOLV Energy Is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAt SOLV Energy we celebrate the power of our differences.
