Job description

Waste Connectionsis looking for a safety-mindedTraffic ManagementFlaggerto join our team at West Van Materials Recovery Center in Vancouver, Washington.

Starting wage is$27.00/HR

Schedule is Tuesday - Saturday10:00 AM - 6:30 PM (or until close)

Safety Sensitive:Yes

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spotting - helping to direct customers and commercial work trucks to appropriate dump sites.
  • Traffic management- moving signs and cones.
  • Cleaning equipment- sweeping/power washing.
  • General site cleanup as needed.
  • Provide friendlycustomer service.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires eligible background check and drug panel screening.
  • At least 2+ years of work experience, preferably in a labor type position.
  • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Experience operating medium-heavy equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift outside.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Exposed to different weather year round.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work such asheavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects 50-75 + pounds.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as skid steer and forklift safely.
  • Knowledge of light andheavy equipment operationand maintenance.
  • Ability to use hand andpower toolsapplicable to trade.
