Shifts Available: 

1. Sat/Sun 8am-2pm (12 hours/week) 

2. Fri/Sat 2pm-10pm (16 hours/week)

Job Description

What You Get To Do: 

The DSP (caregiver)is responsible forproviding direct support, hands-on instruction,assistance, and positive direction to children, teens, and young adults (ages 12-21) with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD)in a manner that ensures their health, safety, successful achievement of serviceobjectives, and personal goals. 

  • Enrich and support the lives of our residents whilemaintaininga safe and healthy environment 
  • Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care. 
  • Assistwith activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating. 
  • Prepare meals and snacks. 
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties. 
  • Provide mobility and transferassistance, which mayinclude usingmechanical lift devices. 
  • Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a high school diploma, transcript, or GED
  • 6 months of professional work experience supporting vulnerable populations required (ex. caregiver, nanny, paraeducator, direct support professional, etc.) 
  • Good communication is key in this role. You'll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members. 
  • Valid driver's license (due to transporting persons served)
  • Must be able to attend three weeks of paid training Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
