Job Summary Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm ST…Overtime will be available

As a Prototype Automotive Mechanic, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the vehicles of tomorrow. Working in a prototype environment, you’ll perform diagnostics, repairs, and modifications on pre-production and experimental vehicles. You’ll help prep cars for unreleased components, ensure quality standards, and fix vehicles coming off the line to meet engineering requirements. This role offers the chance to work with new technologies, advanced vehicle systems, and cross-functional teams in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Modify and prep prototype cars and trucks for testing and development.
  • Install and serviceunreleased vehicle componentsacross mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and adjustments on vehicles straight off the line.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project leaders to support prototype builds.
  • Maintain detailed repair and service records for prototype vehicles.
  • Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment, ensuring readiness and safety.
  • Participate in shop organization, clean-up, and compliance with safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 year of hands-on automotive mechanic experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to operate shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related field.
  • ASE or State Mechanic Certification(s).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Previous prototype, pre-production, or dealership experience a plus.
