To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position, please review this tip sheet .The University of Miami Division of Enrollment Management has an exciting opportunity for a full time Director, Admissions - Recruitment to work in Coral Gables, FL.Under the direction of the Executive Director or Assistant Vice President, the Director of Admission, Recruitment plays a lead role in recruiting and enrolling qualified students for admission to the school in accordance with all applicable internal and external policies and regulations. This position oversees the entire Recruitment team which includes 10 full time employees and four direct reports (3 associate directors and 1 assistant director).Up to 4 weeks of domestic and/or international travel in the fall and up to 2 weeks in the spring will be required. This includes occasional evening and weekend commitment especially during specific times of the year between September and May. This position requires weekly in office presence and is open to being hybrid with designated remote work time.Core Responsibilities:Leads the recruitment strategy on behalf of Undergraduate Admission, which includes direct management of both domestic and international travel.Oversight for three additional areas that are managed by the three associate directors who report to this role: anti-melt, major campus events and the daily visit experience (Visit Center).Crafts and manages onboarding process for new hires and oversees in-house professional development for full-time staff.Responsible for leading and managing a team of admission professionalsManages Slate (Technolutions) platforms to lead accurate, timely reporting to internal and external constituentsExplains educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents, and educatorsMakes prompt and effective contact with prospective and admitted candidatesSecures personally developed inquiries by obtaining the contact information of those that may be interested in programs offered via off-campus events and campus visitsGeneral office duties, which include meeting with walk-in visitors and giving presentations to guestsParticipates in off-campus events to move prospective students through the pipeline (including high school/community college visits, college fairs, and yield events)Evaluate undergraduate applications for admission based on the University’s recruiting goals and standardsCounsel important stakeholders: parents, applicants, and school counselors regarding the University of Miami’s admission policies and proceduresAttend on-campus admission events (open houses, admitted student events…)Expertly liaises with Financial Aid, EM Marketing, and Admission Operations teamsPerforms employee evaluations of direct reportsAnalyzes enrollment reports from all sources, and makes subsequent recommendations to the rest of leadershipOther advanced, or “large-scale” project work as assignedSalary range: $100,000-$110,000This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.Core Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required, Master’s Degree preferred10 years of professional experience within higher education; prior management experience requiredMust possess excellent management, presentation, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skillsMust have the ability to work independently, as well as with teams of colleagues, and possess the aptitude for detail-oriented tasksMust possess strong time management skills, a sense of humor, and have the ability to prioritize and balance responsibilitiesAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, including giving presentationsAbility to lead team to achievement of project goalsAbility to work independently and successfully in CRM system (Slate) and reader platform (Slate Reader)Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operationsAbility to establish department goals, and objectives, that support the strategic planAbility to effectively plan, delegate, and supervise the work of othersAbility to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composureAbility to maintain effective interpersonal relationships, both internally and externallyStrong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and balance numerous responsibilitiesAny relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.The University of Miami is recognized as one of the nation’s premier research institutions and academic health systems and is among the largest employers in South Florida.With more than 20,000 faculty and staff, the University is committed to excellence and guided by a mission to positively impact the lives of students, patients, and communities locally and globally.We are dedicated to fostering a culture where every individual feels valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully.
