Job Description

The Director of Marketing is responsible for creating and implementing an effective marketing program across all platforms that drive increased attendance to Stone Mountain Park. Additionally, this position manages the marketing team and oversees the advertising and digital agencies as well as serves as the brand steward for the Park. All other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

•    Develop and execute the annual marketing plan for all components of Stone Mountain Park including, but not limited to, Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort, Stone Mountain Golf Club, Stone Mountain Campground, park attractions, events and festivals. 
•    Lead integrated marketing campaigns across paid media, digital marketing, CRM/email, social media, partnerships, public relations, and on-property promotions. 
•    Manage advertising strategy, media planning, agency relationships, and creative development to drive attendance, revenue, and brand awareness. 
•    Oversee brand management and ensure consistent messaging and visual standards across all marketing channels and customer touchpoints. 
•    Manage all owned digital channels, including websites, email marketing, online listings, and social media. 
•    Analyze campaign performance, website analytics, sales trends, and marketing ROI to optimize strategy.
•    Lead internal marketing staff and external agency partners while coordinating cross-functional marketing projects. 
•    Direct marketing support for major seasonal festivals, attractions, special events, memberships, lodging, golf, and group sales.
•    Assist in selecting, evaluating and making staff hiring decisions within the Marketing Department.
•    Prepare all creative briefs for each major marketing campaign. Serve as the Park’s brand champion to ensure the advertising and marketing communication is aligned to the brand strategy and exceeds our guests’ expectations.

•    Oversee all Park research and be the advocate for all consumer insight learning.
•    Work closely with sales manager and team to determine business objectives and strategy to achieve best results.
•    Represent the Park in key relationships with local industry groups, associations, and community officials.
•    Oversee the development of the annual marketing budget, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.
•    Represent the Park in Corporate marketing initiatives including website and ticketing vendors.
•    Ensure all marketing and ticketing initiatives are communicated clearly and effectively to all Park departments.
•    Stay informed of developments in the marketing field as well as the entertainment industry and use this information to insure the Park and marketing is innovative and competitive.
•    Directs all new product/attractions promotion and roll-out.
•    Adhere to ARAMARK policies and procedures.
•    Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or Advertising with an MBA desirable.  Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Minimum of 8 years of experience working with theme parks and/or in the entertainment industry preferred. Must have experience working with the public.  

Additional requirements include:
•    Superior organizational, time management and communication skills required.  
•    Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to multi-task. 
•    Very good problem resolution techniques.
•    Solid financial skills and accountability. 
•    Must be computer literate, proficient computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. 
•    Must be familiar with all areas of compliance relating to operating a fuel dock. 
•    Must be willing to work long hours, rotational shifts, weekends, holidays and have rotational days off. 
•    P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is required. 
•    Ability to manage and maintain inventory/cost controls is required. 
•    Ability to deal effectively with customers and other company personnel.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, guests or employees.
•    Must be comfortable sitting, walking and standing for long periods of time. 
•    Experience with the following programs preferred: CMS software (WordPress and AEM), CRM systems (MailChimp, Inntopia, Revinate, Salesforce), PMS and CRS systems – hospitality (Opera, Synxis), Ticketing Systems (Gateway Galaxy, FareHarbor, Accesso), GA4, Canva and/or graphic design/video editing, and experience with social media platforms.
