The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the overall management and daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. This role ensures the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of guest rooms, public spaces, and backofhouse areas. A key responsibility of this position is supporting the Director of Housekeeping and upholding all established departmental processes, standards, and procedures.

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager must consistently demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to rise above interpersonal conflicts or distractions within the department, maintaining composure and a managerial mindset at all times. The position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to guide the team in a fastpaced environment.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Salaried rate for this position is $54,000.00 to $60,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly organized, professional, and detail oriented Assistant Housekeeping Manager to help lead the daily operations of our Housekeeping Department. In this role, you will support the Director of Housekeeping, ensuring that guest rooms, public spaces, and back of house areas are impeccably clean, well maintained, and meet all brand and quality standards.The ideal candidate is a strong team leader who thrives in a fast paced environment, remains composed during challenges, and promotes a positive and professional workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Assist in overseeing daily housekeeping operations, including room assignments, inspections, and workload distribution.
  • Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and service spaces meet cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections to verify compliance with brand requirements and established departmental processes.
  • Support inventory management, including linens, amenities, chemicals, and supplies.

 

Support to the Director of Housekeeping

  • Act as a key support partner to the Director of Housekeeping in executing departmental strategies, initiatives, and operational plans.
  • Reinforce, implement, and maintain existing processes and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Assist the Director with administrative tasks, reporting, and departmental communications.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and motivate Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Laundry staff.
  • Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members.
  • Provide ongoing guidance, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
  • Model professional behavior by remaining neutral, composed, and solutionfocused amidst any departmental tensions or hourlystaff disputes.

Guest Experience

  • Address and resolve guest service issues related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the Front Office to prioritize room readiness, special requests, VIP accommodations, and early arrivals.
  • Support efforts to improve guest satisfaction scores and overall experience.

 

Administrative & Compliance

  • Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and maintaining proper staffing levels.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and OSHA standards.
  • Help maintain accurate records of inventory, inspections, and departmental documentation.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings and department briefings.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality degree preferred.
  • Previous Management experience required.
  • Working knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards, and equipment.

  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
  • May be required to work extended hours or assist other shifts during peak periods.
  • Role requires being reachable after hours for urgent operational matters.
