Direct Care Worker


Employment Type: Full-time OR Casual

Job Location: Lloydminster, Alberta

Schedule: Shift-Based (24-hour Operation)


Position Overview

We are currently hiring a Direct Care Worker for our non-profit client in Lloydminster. This role is responsible for supporting daily shelter operations and helping maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for clients.


Shift Schedule

The shelter operates 24 hours per day. All shifts are 8 hours:

· 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

· 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

· 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.


Compensation

· $22.00/hour

· Additional $2.00/hour overnight premium


Key Responsibilities

· Perform general housekeeping and laundry duties

· Prepare and serve nutritious meals

· Provide direct client support in a professional, compassionate manner

· Maintain safety, structure, and order within the facility

· Work collaboratively with coworkers (staff work in pairs at all times)

· Manage time effectively and follow established policies and procedures


Qualifications & Requirements

· Availability for day, evening, and overnight shifts (required)

· Must be able to work weekdays and weekends (required)

· Strong client service and interpersonal skills

· Effective organization and time-management abilities

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

· Comfortable working within a shelter environment

· Reliable, professional, and respectful in all interactions
