More details:
A family in Summit is seeking a nanny for their two boys, ages 5 and 7 years old. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The family is flexible, with a start time as early as 12 pm or as late as 2 pm. However, the nanny must be consistently reliable.
Ideal caregiver:

The family's biggest priority is finding someone who wants to stay for several years. Someone who is reliable, proactive, warm with the children, and sees what needs to be done without being asked. The ideal nanny for this family is organized, clean, patient, loving, and on top of things. They are efficient and will prioritize completion of tasks. The family is looking for someone who is very professional and will focus on the family during work hours. The ideal candidate is someone looking to become a long-term part of the household and who takes pride in both caring for the children and helping the household run smoothly.
Duties include:
Duties for this position may include driving children to/from after-school activities. Being actively engaged with them after school: play, talk, read, and help with homework and other school-related needs. Preparing the children for the following school day by checking and organizing backpacks, homework, lunch boxes, etc. Preparing healthy meals. Preparing dinner for the children or a simple family dinner and cleaning up afterward. Helping with baths/showers when needed. Encouraging the children to put away toys and clean up after themselves. Occasionally helping with birthday-party gifts, school events and similar children's activities. Spending two hours per day on household management and errands prior to kids arrival. The nanny is being asked to spend two hours per day on household management and errands such as keeping the children's bedrooms, bathroom and playroom tidy and organized.
The family uses a laundry service, so duties may also include preparing the children's laundry for weekly pickup and putting away the children's clean laundry. Occasional help with adult laundry and ironing may be requested. Additionally, the nanny will prepare items for weekly cleaning pickup and return it to the closets afterward.
Additional duties include rotating clothing as the children outgrow it, keeping the car tidy after transporting the children. Helping with light household tidying and tasks as needed such as organizing toys, books, backpacks and sports/activity equipment, loading/unloading the dishwasher and keeping the kitchen tidy.
Nanny will also be responsible for bringing in and opening/putting away household deliveries, keeping track of household supplies, and online grocery shopping and putting groceries away, and bringing trash/recycling to and from the curb once a week.
About the children:
The oldest child is almost 6 years old and a great kid! He is loving, determined, goal-oriented, and very inquisitive. He asks lots of questions that Mom and Dad try their best to answer. He likes math but struggles with reading and writing. Some of his favorite activities include playing games he's made up, building with Legos, and talking about cars and tall buildings. He's a big rule follower but wants to know why the rules exist. He needs to know he is being loved and supported.
This 5-year-old is loving, emotional, funny, and happy. He loves his big brother. As he grows, he's becoming more independent and more of his own person. He is a “boy's boy” who loves to explore the world and test boundaries. He hates any type of tension, and will lighten the mood by making people laugh if he thinks they're unhappy. He pretends to be tough, but he is very soft inside and will be considerate when he knows it's important. He doesn't like doing his own chores but loves to help others with their own tasks The children are generally sweet and get along most of the time
About the parents:
These parents are calm, rational, and busy individuals. Both parents have very demanding full-time jobs, so it's important that their caregiver is reliable and works with their schedule. These parents make their expectations clear to the boys. They will give them a talk, warning and/or 1-2 minutes of calm “alone time” in their rooms if they're struggling, which is usually sufficient. Mom and Dad enforce a culture of respect in the home with no physical violence.
Benefits:

On the books salary plus paid vacation days off, paid holidays off, paid sick days off, and paid personal days off.
