Position Overview

A family is seeking an experienced, organized, full-time live-out House Manager / Nanny to care for their 5-year-old son and maintain their home. The role is structured around the school day: mornings and early afternoons are dedicated to managing the household and meal preparation, transitioning to childcare in the afternoon.

The nanny will depart the home by 2:30 PM for a 3:00 PM school pickup, return home with their son, provide an after-school snack, and engage with him through the late afternoon while finishing dinner. Dinner is ready for the family at 6:00 PM.

The home is approximately 3,700 square feet plus a finished basement. Household tasks follow a planned daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedule — for example, window cleaning or pantry organization — and are completed at a comfortable pace throughout the day. Groceries are delivered. There is one dog in the home, and additional household members reside in an attached in-law suite.

A vehicle is provided for all role-related driving, and on-site parking is available. This is a long-term position.

Benefits

  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
  • 2 weeks paid vacation (one week of the family's choosing, one week of the nanny's)
  • 3–5 paid personal/sick days
  • All major holidays paid and off
  • Healthcare stipend
  • Vehicle provided for all role-related driving
  • On-site parking available

Responsibilities

  • School pickup at 3:00 PM and safe transport home
  • Afternoon care and engagement with a 5-year-old
  • Preparing an after-school snack
  • Daily lunch prep for their son
  • Preparing family dinner to be ready by 6:00 PM
  • General household cleaning on a planned daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly rotation
  • Laundry
  • Dishes and kitchen upkeep
  • Tidying and organizing throughout the home
  • Organizing projects (pantry, closets, seasonal turnover)
  • Putting away delivered groceries
  • Maintaining the household task calendar

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Comfortable driving a child daily
  • Experience combining childcare with household organization
  • Highly organized, tidy, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable in a home with one dog
  • Reliable and self-directed, able to work independently during school hours
  • Seeking a long-term commitment
  • Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
