Job Summary

Daleville Community Schools and Cowan Community School Corporation are seeking an energetic, student-focused Director of Dining Services to lead nutrition programs serving approximately 1,715 students across four schools in East Central Indiana. This leader will oversee a team of approximately 20 frontline employees and be responsible for daily operations, financial performance, compliance, and building strong partnerships with district leadership while delivering an outstanding dining experience for students.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about K-12 food service and developing high-performing teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to successfully manage multiple locations. With a Monday through Friday schedule and time off during evenings, weekends, holidays, and school breaks, the role offers excellent work-life balance along with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in two close-knit school communities. K-12 experience is preferred, and catering experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account
  • Maintains excellent relationships with the client
  • Works with the team to create nutritious, high-quality food for students
  • Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams
  • Acts as a liaison between Chartwells, the client, and the community
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the dining services operation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Management, Hospitality, Culinary, or Nutrition preferred; additional food service management experience
  • Three or more years of food service management experience
  • K-12 dining experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Financial acumen with strong business intuition
