Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, you will help patients experiencing mental health and behavioral health challenges receive compassionate, evidence-based care so they can achieve stability, healing, and improved well-being.

Every day you will assess, monitor, and support patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs across a variety of settings. You will be expected to provide therapeutic nursing interventions, administer medications, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, de-escalate crisis situations, and advocate for patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, exceptional communication and de-escalation skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships while delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

  • Allows for privacy and modesty in the provision of care.

  • Identifies self by name and title to patient/family.

  • Determines presence/type of Advanced Directive.

  • Reports suspected cases of abuse/neglect, if identified.

  • Understands role of, and how to access, the Bioethics Committee.

  • Establishes presence of consent prior to treatment/procedures.

$5,000 Sign on for eligible new hires with at least 1 year of relevant experience within the last 3-5 years.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an RN School of Nursing

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - American Heart Association

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification - American Heart Association

Preferred

  • Bachelors in health related field

  • ED experience

  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification
