The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department develops guidance section electronics architectures for development programs, supports subsystem analyses, integration and test, provides program leadership as well as GPS/IMU support. We partner with several Electrical Engineering Departments that provide the detail designs of our electrical products. We are seeking interns willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with our engineers to generate and utilize today's cutting-edge technology to develop electrical subsystems.

What You Will Do:

  • Job responsibilities of this role vary but include activities such as troubleshooting electronics in a lab or production environment, performing system and circuit level analysis, subsystem integration and test, supporting failure investigations, maintaining and creating documentation, and interacting with multi-discipline groups including suppliers.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and process issues down to CCA and component levels.
  • Failure analysis / root cause determination and corrective action implementation.
  • Performing analog and digital circuit analysis and characterizing and modeling electrical signals of electronics subsystems in simulation.
  • Identifying and instantiating circuit card and subassembly design updates.
  • Conducting integration & test at the subassembly level.
  • Develop interconnect models between various subsystems.
  • Generate test procedures/plans and document test results.
  • Generate and present task results to small technical teams.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at a minimum, entering their Sophomore by the start of summer 2027.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with test equipment, test automation scripting, test conduction, sensor control.
  • Experience with oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meter.
  • Basic lab or other experience with one or more of the following: RF, analog, digital, mixed signal, circuit design or analysis
  • Experience with writing and/or executing test procedures.
  • Integration and test of electrical hardware/subsystems.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
