Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4+ years of applicable video HW and/or Systems experience.
• 4+ years of experience with hardware system design, system integration, schematic capture, and circuit simulation software.
• 4+ years of experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems.
• 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
• 1+ year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leverages advanced Video and Computer Vision Engineering knowledge and experience to research and develop critical video codec and computer vision HW.
• Designs, develops, implements, and verifies complex video systems and HW and FW tasks including Video Encoder, Video Decoder, Computer Vision, Video Quality and Features.
• Performs complex architecture, standard study, algorithm, and feature decomposition to drive requirements and specifications for hardware development.
• Ensures advanced KPIs, systems performance, and area and power metrics are met.
• Drives triage of complex problems to determine root causes and addresses the issues.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams (e.g., design and test) and customers to analyze customer product requirements for new architecture, video, and CV modules or the modification of an existing design for all addressable markets including mobile, automotive, IoT, and others.
• Leads the design of a video system and develops complex features and components in line with proposals or roadmaps for complex products.
• Writes detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for complex projects to guide users and/or customers to use or implement output.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.
• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.
• Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$167,000.00 - $250,600.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
