Title: Digital Zone Tutor work-study

Job Summary:

The Community College of Denver is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable work-study Digital Literacy Tutor to support students across all CCD courses, as well as adult learners enrolled in our High School Diploma Program (HSDP), around digital literacy. This role is vital in ensuring that both traditional and adult students have the digital skills necessary for academic and career success. Tutors will provide both in-person and online tutoring sessions, scheduled via Webex, and must be available for evening and weekend hours to best serve our High School Diploma students.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in-person and online (via Webex) to help adult learners navigate digital platforms such as D2L (Desire2Learn), Northstar Digital Literacy, and WeVideo.
- Guide students in troubleshooting common computer software issues.
- Offer comprehensive support in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Assess student needs and adapt tutoring methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide feedback to faculty and program coordinators.
- Promote digital literacy and confidence in using technology for academic and personal growth.
- Demonstrate and model excellent customer service skills in all student and staff interactions.
- Lead workshops related to current CCD course needs.
- Monitor and maintain an orderly and welcoming environment in the assigned tutoring zone area, ensuring a productive and safe space for all students.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support the effective operation of the tutoring center and student success.
- Work a flexible schedule with availability during evenings and weekends to best serve our adult learners.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Proficiency in D2L or similar Learning Management Systems, Northstar Digital Literacy, WeVideo, and Webex.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Basic programming skills in HTML, C++, and Python.
- Experience troubleshooting common computer and software issues.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to individuals with varying levels of digital literacy.
-Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to strictly adhere to family Educational Rights and privacy Act (FERPA)
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 excluding first time students, must have work study award, enrolled in at least 6 + hours at CCD and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Previous tutoring, teaching, or training experience is highly desirable.

-Adobe Suite Knowledge
