Job description

On behalf of our client, a highly regarded independent private dental practice in Madison, Wisconsin, we are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join their close-knit team. This is a direct-hire position with a practice that prioritizes exceptional patient care and a supportive, collaborative work environment over a corporate clinic feel.

Our client utilizes modern digital technology while maintaining the personal, conversational relationships their patients have trusted for years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Welcome patients, review medical histories, and ensure comfort and clarity prior to and during procedures.

  • Chairside Assisting: Provide efficient 4-handed dentistry during restorative, cosmetic, and surgical procedures.

  • Sterilization & Safety: Manage infection control by sterilizing instruments, preparing treatment rooms, and strictly following OSHA and CDC guidelines.

  • Diagnostics: Take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral impressions/scans.

  • Teamwork: Maintain accurate clinical notes in the practice management software and collaborate seamlessly with the hygienists and front office.

Position Requirements

  • Experience: 1+ years of dental assisting experience is preferred, though our client is willing to train the right candidate who possesses a strong work ethic and an exceptional attitude.

  • Certification: Radiation safety/X-ray certification is required. Expanded Functions (EFDA) certification is a major plus.

  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to calm anxious patients.
