What is the opportunity?

The Wealth Management Canada (WMC) Digital Strategy and Visioning team is instrumental in supporting, creating, and articulating the Wealth Management Canada Digital and Innovation strategy of today and tomorrow to shape the future of digital wealth management.

As a key member of the WMC Digital Strategy and Visioning you will act as the market intelligence lead driving the WMC's digital strategy by identifying, synthesizing, and reporting on global trends, benchmarks, and opportunities and providing digital thought leadership to develop recommendations that advance our digital journey.

What will you do?

  • CRITICAL THINKING + STRATEGY: Actively contribute to the overarching articulation of WMC capabilities' future vision, and how to deliver on that vision. Influence and support the detailed work on individual capability strategies enabling RBC WMC to maintain relevance in the midst of mid to long term threats.

  • COMMUNICATE + PRESENT: Concisely and clearly communicate strategic insights, potential new business models, product offerings or complex ideas, through a variety of mediums, i.e. power-point presentations, white papers, talks or videos, etc.

  • COLLABORATE: Identify emerging trends and opportunities while partnering with internal technology experts to strategize and test initial feasibility of ideas within program strategies.

  • RESEARCH + HYPOTHESIZE: Analyze external market & competitive trends with respect to Wealth Management and emerging technologies. Share insights with strategy colleagues and incorporate your findings into your Strategy & Visioning activities.

  • GUIDE AND FACILITATE: Support with multi-stakeholder workshops, to collaboratively ideate/build concept strategies. This may require designing systems and customer journey maps, business model outlines, and go-to-market or communication strategies to inform and demonstrate the strategic value to relevant stakeholders and senior leaders.

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to indirectly influence others and collaborate in insightful problem solving

  • Excellent analytical and logical skills, with an ability to bridge the gap between business and emerging technology, preferably, in the wealth management space

  • Ability to understand the relationships between research, data and activities to draw conclusions and deliver concise executive recommendations

  • Highly effective "storyteller" / communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees

  • Experience delivering written & verbal presentations of analyses & recommendations to Senior Management, preferably, in the financial services or related technology industries

  • Robust organizational skills with an ability to build relationships and manage multiple complex project teams across levels of seniority

  • Ability to toggle between macro strategy to micro execution and delivery planning; comfort with complexity and ambiguity

Nice-to-have:

  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred

  • 2+ years of corporate strategy or management consulting experience; Digital & AI strategy experience preferred

  • 4+ years of professional work experience

  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills
