Job Description:
Summary
In collaboration with the traditional marketing team and the web services team, the Digital Content Creator will orchestrate an effective content strategy across all digital platforms for the College. The Digital Content Creator's primary responsibilities include managing all social media channels as well as cross-channel, student-focused storytelling in support of the College's marketing and admissions goals. The creative thinking skills and strategies of the Digital Content Creator will drive the institution's online narrative, strengthen branding, and improve digital communication and engagement with prospective and current students.
This position plays a key role in engaging audiences throughout the student journey - from prospective student awareness and inquiry through enrollment, belonging, persistence, and completion. Through ICC's social media presence, student ambassador program, digital storytelling efforts, and web-connected content strategy, the Digital Content Creator helps differentiate ICC's approach to engagement and recruitment while ensuring content is timely, accessible, brand-aligned, and responsive to audience needs.
Compensation for the Digital Content Creator is $49,899.20-$57,366.40 annually.

  • Manage ICC's primary social media channels, ensuring content reflects the College's brand voice, institutional priorities, student experience, and audience needs.
  • Develop and publish student-centered digital content that supports ICC's recruitment, enrollment, retention, brand, and community engagement goals.
  • Measure and analyze results of social media in real-time and make recommendations to optimize performance of marketing campaigns.
  • Elevate authentic student voice throughout the student journey by identifying, capturing, and sharing stories from prospective students, current students, alumni, and other key audiences.
  • Build an ICC student social ambassador program to expand student-generated content, peer-to-peer storytelling, and authentic engagement.
  • Create and coordinate digital storytelling across platforms, including social media, web-connected content, digital marketing, photography, short-form video, and other emerging channels.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications and Recruitment, Web Services, Admissions, academic programs, and other campus partners to align digital content with campaign priorities, student journey mapping, and OneICC messaging.
  • Use social media insights, engagement metrics, campaign performance data, and audience feedback to evaluate content effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Respond to social media engagement in a professional, timely, student-centered, and brand-aligned manner, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support recruitment marketing and institutional campaigns by creating digital content that drives awareness, engagement, inquiry generation, student action, and brand connection.
  • Stay current on digital storytelling, social media, student engagement, accessibility, and higher education marketing trends, bringing forward recommendations that strengthen ICC's digital presence and student-centered communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Associate degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in social media, digital marketing, digital content, communications, or related work.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging, audience-centered digital content for social media and other digital platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media platforms and experience with social media business/advertising managers.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, visual storytelling, and content development skills.
  • Experience using social media management, analytics, or publishing tools, including Hootsuite and SproutSocial.
  • Ability to use data, engagement metrics, and audience insights to improve content performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, campus partners, and community members.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences in a way that is clear, inclusive, accessible, and aligned with brand standards and social media best practices.
  • Experienced brand storyteller with a passion for developing innovative, compelling, content across photography, copy and video; able to adapt creatively per channel.
  • Proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences, particularly as it relates to crafting digital content.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, advertising, marketing, digital media, public relations, or a related field; or five to seven years of related experience.
  • Experience in higher education, community college marketing, student engagement, recruitment marketing, or institutional communications.
  • Experience with photography, video capture, editing, and production for digital platforms.
  • Experience supporting recruitment marketing, lead generation, digital campaigns, web content, SEO, or analytics.
  • Demonstrated passion for working with students and elevating authentic student stories.
