Job Description:
Together We Innovate. Together We Change.
Turn Your Summer Into Something Bigger
Looking for an internship where business, technology, and real-world problem-solving come together?
At Altria, you'll spend your summer gaining hands-on experience with the digital tools, data, and technology solutions that help support our retail partners and field sales teams. As a Trade Program & Enablement Intern, you'll work with teams that help bring digital products to life, improve how technology is used at retail, and support solutions that make work easier, faster, and more connected.
This is where business, technology, and real-world problem-solving come together.
This isn't an internship where you'll be watching from the sidelines. You'll work on meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and gain exposure to the technology, data, and business strategies that help drive results across the organization. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to a summer capstone project and participate in deep-dive experiences across the Trade Program & Enablement organization.
What You'll Do
As a Trade Program & Enablement Intern, you'll support digital solutions that help retailers and sales teams use technology more effectively.
Throughout the summer, you'll have opportunities to:
  • Work with the Sales Digital Specialist Team to support and implement digital products at retail.
  • Learn how loyalty programs, scan reporting, APIs, mobile app enhancements, personalization tools, and other digital solutions support business execution.
  • Analyze data, trends, and reporting to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help translate technical information into clear, useful communication for different audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Trade Program & Enablement, HQ, Sales, retail accounts, and technology partners.
  • Build skills in automation, standardization, technical documentation, analysis, project planning, and stakeholder communication.
  • Complete a summer capstone project focused on identifying an enablement opportunity, developing recommendations, and presenting solutions.

Skills You'll Build
This internship is a great fit for students who are curious about the intersection of business, technology, data, and strategy.
Throughout the summer, you'll build skills that can help you stand out in the classroom, during future internships, and in your career after graduation.
You'll gain experience in areas like:
  • Digital product support and implementation
  • Retail technology and digital trade programs
  • Data analysis, reporting, and insights
  • SQL, Power BI, Excel, and digital tools
  • Automation and process improvement
  • Technical documentation
  • Project planning and execution
  • Stakeholder communication
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Presenting recommendations and influencing action

Throughout the summer, you'll gain exposure to technical products, retail technology solutions, analytics, automation, strategic planning, communication, and collaboration with business and technology partners.
The Experience
This is a remote internship with virtual meetings, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to participate in in-person meetings, events, and field experiences. You'll work alongside professionals from a variety of teams including digital specialists, technology partners, account teams, field sales, and HQ leaders. You'll also gain exposure to different groups within Trade Program & Enablement through deep-dive workshops, networking opportunities, and a summer capstone project.
What You'll Gain Along the Way
We believe internships should give you more than experience. They should help you build confidence, connections, and skills you can carry into your future career.
As a Trade Program & Enablement Intern, you'll gain:
  • Hands-on experience implementing digital products with leading retail technology providers.
  • Exposure to AGDC leadership, field sales teams, HQ teams, and top retail accounts.
  • A summer capstone project that allows you to analyze a real business opportunity and recommend solutions.
  • Deep-dive workshops across the Trade Program & Enablement organization.
  • Opportunities to strengthen your communication, analytical thinking, technical problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Competitive hourly pay and holiday pay per program guidelines.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for students who are curious, collaborative, and excited to learn how technology can help solve business challenges.
You might be a great fit if you:
  • Like solving problems and finding better ways to do things
  • Are interested in business, technology, data, digital tools, or retail innovation
  • Enjoy working with different types of people and teams
  • Can take technical information and make it easier for others to understand
  • Are comfortable learning new systems and tools
  • Take initiative and enjoy turning ideas into action
  • Are organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree.
  • Rising junior or senior preferred at the start of the internship.
  • Preferred majors include Business, Marketing, Management, Information Technology/MIS, Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Foundational analytical skills; exposure to SQL, Power BI, or Excel is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable working in a remote, cross-functional environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Where You'll Work
This internship is remote within the United States, giving you the flexibility to work from where you're most productive while collaborating with teams across the business.
Throughout the summer, you'll participate in virtual meetings, cross-functional projects, and opportunities to engage with technology partners, field teams, and business leaders. In-person meetings, events, and field experiences may also be available as part of the program.
Your Future Starts Here
If you're excited by the idea of combining technology, data, business strategy, and problem-solving, this internship is an opportunity to learn by doing.
You'll work on real projects, build meaningful relationships, and gain skills that can help shape your future career. Along the way, you'll see how technology enables business success, supports innovation, and creates value for customers and partners.
