Job Description

  • This role is focused on certificate discovery and automation.  Additional focus will be on operational support for the Venafi Platform application. Daily operations support includes system checks, maintenance, end-user support, and problem resolution.  Project work may also be assigned, based on the client's needs.  Daily operations support requires interactions with Subject Matter Experts, as well as end-users at a variety of levels within the client organization.  This team assists with registration of digital signatures and support. This team supports global sites and services making excellent written and verbal communication skills of high importance.
  • Reading / research of Venafi service
  • Research ideas on discovery and certificate placement
  • Analyze certificate discoveries and determine placement
  • Determine who certificate owners are
  • Looking for automation opportunities
  • Accept new customer requests and add them in Venafi.
  • Review certificate requests and approve or reject.
  • Review revocation requests and approve or reject.
  • Consult with customers regarding certificate needs.
  • Private versus Public certificates
  • Which Entrust template is required
  • Assist customer with certificate installation on various platforms
  • Scan Venafi for duplicate Common Names to reduce Venafi license count.
  • Process Entrust Code signing certificate requests in the Entrust portal.
  • Add new domains and renew existing domains with Entrust.
  • Monitor Venafi for error events and resolve or escalate to Tier 3.
  • Weekly report to find Venafi policies that do not have assigned FIM groups.
  • Monitor the Entrust license totals and alert Tier 3 when they are low.
  • Assist with other PKI tasks such as offline CRL publishing.
  • Perform the daily and weekly PKI checks as defined in the ADCS OSI.
  • Help research PKI problems or issues by performing internet searches or consulting documentation.
  • Documenting repeatable job processes.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist customers with registration and use of digital signatures
  • Understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Self-motivated and self-driven
  • Critical thinking / logical execution
  • Knowledge of Certificate Services
  • Understanding of SSL certificates
  • Basic understanding of Group Manager tools and/or how to look up security groups
  • Strong drive for process improvements and solutions
  • Ability to write and understand technical documentation
  • Ability to work with and talk to customers
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to operate well in a team environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology issues
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with an ITSM application, preferably ServiceNow
  • Experience in PKI
  • Experience with servers / applications that require certificates
  • Certifications in ITIL, MCSA, or any relevant products
  • Ability to use Internet tools for translation to enable written communication with people speaking other languages.
  • Experience with digital signatures
  • PowerShell scripting knowledge / experience
