Job Summary
The Digital Payment Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day accounting, settlement, reconciliation, and risk monitoring activities that support Carhartt's direct-to-consumer and direct-to-business digital commerce operations. This role supervises the eCommerce Accounting Specialists and provides oversight across digital payment accounting, cash posting, exception management, account reconciliation, dispute resolution, and financial control processes to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting. The role also partners closely with Treasury, Customer Service, Credit, Deductions, IT, banking partners, and external payment providers to resolve issues, strengthen controls, and support scalable growth across D2C and D2B channels. This position is expected to drive process excellence by standardizing workflows, improving reconciliation accuracy, enhancing visibility into transaction activity, and leveraging technology to automate manual processes where practical. The Digital Payment Supervisor will help advance a more modern, data-driven operating model by promoting ERP integration, system connectivity, dashboard reporting, exception-based review, and stronger fraud and compliance controls-reflecting current best practices in accounts receivable, payment reconciliation, and treasury operations. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting and cash application knowledge with digital payment expertise, analytical problem solving, process improvement capability, and the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Associate Responsibilities
• Coach, mentor and develop the Accounting Specialist team.
• Supervise and prioritize daily work related to digital payment transactions, reconciliations, cash application, exception research, and dispute resolution to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Own day-to-day operational performance of digital payment processing, including settlement timing, transaction completeness, exception handling, and adherence to service level expectations across payment providers, banking partners, and internal systems.
• Review and oversee monthly reconciliations for D2C/D2B payment accounts, cash balancing activities, aging support, and unresolved remittance or settlement discrepancies.
• Partner with payment processors and digital platform teams to monitor transaction flows, identify processing issues, and ensure alignment between payment system outputs, bank settlements, and ERP postings.
• Partner with Credit, Deductions, Customer Service, Treasury, IT, and external banking/payment partners to resolve operational issues and improve end-to-end payment accuracy.
• Lead and prioritize a pipeline of automation and process improvement initiatives, focusing on increasing touchless processing, improving data quality, reducing manual intervention, and enhancing scalability across digital payment operations.
• Establish and maintain procedures, documentation, and testing support for new digital platforms, payment methods, system enhancements, and policy changes.
• Monitor risk indicators and partner closely with fraud strategy and customer experience teams to analyze unusual transaction patterns, chargebacks, refunds, and fraud-related trends to ensure timely escalation and strong internal controls.
• Lead PCI compliance for the Digital Platforms team by coordinating compliance activities, supporting audit readiness, maintaining required controls and documentation, and partnering with internal teams to identify, mitigate, and remediate risks related to payment data security across digital commerce platforms.
• Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) across digital payment operations, including settlement timeliness, exception rates, auto-match rates, chargeback volumes, refund cycle time, and reconciliation accuracy; regularly communicate trends, risks, and actionable insights to leadership.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of related work experience
Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum of 5+ years in digital/ecommerce payments / finance operations
• Minimum of 2+ years in a senior role with demonstrated project or people leadership
Job Profile
AR & Digital Payment Operations: Demonstrated experience in accounting, AR, cash application, and eCommerce payment environments, including high-volume transaction processing, reconciliations, settlements, dispute/chargeback management, and scalable digital payment operations.
Systems & Automation: Strong proficiency with ERP systems (preferably SAP), banking/payment platforms, and advanced Excel, with experience leveraging automation, system integrations, AI-enabled tools, and digital workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Reconciliation & Analytics: Proven ability to analyze complex transactions, investigate variances, and resolve exceptions using data-driven insights, reporting, and critical-thinking skills to enhance visibility and decision-making.
Process Improvement & Scalability: Track record of driving continuous improvement through workflow standardization, automation, and enhanced reconciliation methods to build scalable processes that support eCommerce growth and operational complexity.
Leadership, Risk & Cross-Functional Execution: Experience leading or coordinating teams while partnering cross-functionally (IT, Treasury, Credit, Customer Service, and external partners), with a strong focus on compliance, fraud risk awareness, controls, communication, and delivering high-quality, timely results.
