Product Manager — Developer Experience & Portal

Bentley Developer Platform

Team: Bentley Developer Platform — Platform Product Management

Location: Preference is for hybrid or office-based work in our Exton/Philadelphia, PA office (US scenario) or Dublin, Ireland office. Remote work will be considered for exceptional applicants.

Reports to: General Manager, Bentley Developer Platform.

Type: Full-time · Individual contributor

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Product Manager for Developer Experience & Portal to own the Bentley Developer Hub as a product — the central destination where developers discover Bentley’s APIs, evaluate them, and get to their first working integration. You will own the API catalogue, onboarding experience, documentation quality, and the self-service journey from discovery through to first use.

This role is for a product manager with deep developer empathy. You will define the product specification and onboarding flows, partner closely with engineering and UX to build them, and measure success by how quickly and easily developers can get started. Direct experience as a developer, or a strong track record working closely with developers, is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the Developer Hub as a product — API catalogue structure, navigation and discovery, onboarding flows, documentation quality, and the self-service commercial UX.

  • Define the Developer Hub product spec and end-to-end onboarding journey ahead of engineering build.

  • Drive time-to-first-call down to under 15 minutes for the priority API families (iTwin, Cesium ion, EVO).

  • Instrument the self-service developer journey — the funnel from visit to register to first call to first payment.

  • Ensure every hub-listed API family has a free tier or a clearly documented sandbox/trial path that lets a developer evaluate without a paywall on basic functionality.

  • Work closely with Portal Engineers, the Developer Enablement team, and product PMs across Cesium, EVO, and iTwin to surface their content within a unified hub while preserving each community’s identity and URL.

  • Partner with UX design on the portal experience.

  • Use developer feedback and telemetry to prioritize the hub roadmap.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years in product management, with significant experience owning developer-facing products, developer platforms, or API products.

  • Direct experience as a developer, or a track record of working extremely closely with developers; deep, demonstrable empathy for developer friction.

  • Strong understanding of developer onboarding, documentation, API discovery, and self-service product motions.

  • Experience instrumenting product funnels and using data to drive prioritization.

  • Ability to write clear product specs and partner effectively with engineering and UX.

  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder teams while keeping a coherent product vision.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
