The Business & Legal Affairs Operations team works across all U.S. labels and is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and summarizing contracts such as artist recording agreements, soundtrack agreements, distribution agreements, and joint venture agreements. As a Manager, Business & Legal Affairs Operations, you will work on a team to enter and review full contract summaries into the Contract Summary System for all internal departments to access and utilize, including royalty rates, copyright percentages, term structure, rights, and restrictions.

What you'll do:
  • Review, interpret, and summarize agreements within our Contract Summary System properly, and in a timely fashion, to accommodate needs from other departments who utilize the data.
  • Manage digital clearances for all U.S. based artist agreements to ensure all products are accurately cleared for timely release.
  • Track deliverables through the term of contract and update data in the summary system as modifications occur. 
  • Manage centralized U.S. talent rosters.
  • Participate in analysis, design, and testing of new IT systems and process improvement projects (e.g., Royalties, Digital Rights, Departmental databases).
  • Perform ad hoc contractual research as requested by BA, A&R Admin, Finance, GDB, Licensing, Law, etc..
  • Prepare contract summary reports across all labels to analyze roster trends, digital rights, merchandise rights, and other ad hoc requests.
Who you are:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • MBA or JD strongly preferred                     
  • Highly skilled in computer software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook)
  • Oracle/PowerBuilder knowledge a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, timely, and accurate
  • Proactive thinker / creative problem solver
