Job Summary

A Digital Marketing Interns goal is to gain hands-on experience supporting SERVPROs Communications and Social teams, with a focus on public relations, brand communications, and social media analytics. Through this internship, the intern will develop an understanding of day-to-day communications operations, media strategy, content planning, and social media performance analysis within a nationally recognized brand.

The Digital Marketing Intern will work closely with multiple members of the Communications and Social teams and contribute to real-world projects that support proactive public relations efforts and social media strategy. This internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to both strategic planning and execution while helping the intern build professional experience in communications and marketing.

This internship is designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities and exposure to multiple areas within the Communications team. The intern will complete a final project and presentation focused on proactive PR and content strategy recommendations.

You will

  • Assist with research and development of proactive public relations initiatives
  • Research media outlets, publications, reporters, and industry contacts for potential outreach opportunities
  • Help develop and organize targeted media lists and story opportunities
  • Assist in building a proposed editorial calendar to support proactive PR efforts
  • Draft sample media pitches, story ideas, and communications materials
  • Monitor media coverage and assist with compiling coverage reports as needed
  • Shadow and support the social media team with content planning and analytics reporting
  • Assist with gathering and analyzing social media performance data and engagement metrics
  • Identify social media trends, content opportunities, and audience insights
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and team meetings as scheduling allows
  • Collaborate with various members of the Communications team to gain exposure to internal communications, PR, social media, and multimedia operations
  • Support additional Communications projects and duties as assigned

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic analytics concepts preferred

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be currently enrolled in college pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Media, or a related field

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced, high pressure office environment.
  • This temporary, part-time position is scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week, with work hours occurring between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday
  • Additional working hours required as needed to complete assignments and projects on schedule.
