• Establish frameworks for measuring success within AI-driven search environments, including visibility, discoverability, and engagement metrics that extend beyond traditional SEO reporting.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes needed to support modern SEO, AEO, and GEO initiatives.
• Support future content migration efforts associated with a large-scale digital transformation initiative and ensure search visibility is maintained throughout the transition.

• Will inherit an existing search function that currently includes a senior-level SEO resource and multiple external SEO resources.
• Initially expected to assess the current operating model and determine the optimal long-term structure for the team and external resources.
Ideal Background
The hiring manager is particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate an understanding of how AI is changing search behavior and can translate those industry changes into practical business strategies, reporting methodologies, and optimization initiatives.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Our client is seeking an SEO/AEO Manager to drive organic traffic, search discoverability, and revenue growth across a portfolio of B2B ecommerce businesses.
This role will lead strategy and execution across traditional SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and emerging AI-driven search platforms to ensure the company's products and solutions remain highly visible wherever customers search for information.
The position will collaborate closely with ecommerce, product marketing, content, development, and paid media teams to improve keyword coverage, increase non-branded demand capture, and strengthen visibility across search engines, AI platforms, and industry discovery tools.
This position will manage both internal and external resources, including contractors and cross-functional contributors, to execute against search visibility roadmaps across multiple business units.
This is a unique opportunity to help build a centralized Search Visibility Center of Excellence, establishing scalable processes and best practices across multiple brands while directly impacting traffic, orders, and revenue in a fast-paced, growth-focused B2B environment.
General Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and execute multi-brand SEO and search visibility strategies aligned to revenue, traffic, and share-of-voice goals.
• Manage internal and external resources, including contractors and cross-functional partners, to deliver against SEO and search visibility initiatives.
• Identify gaps in keyword coverage, rankings, and indexed content, and build roadmaps to expand organic search presence.
• Optimize content and site structure to improve visibility across Google, Bing, AI search engines, and emerging generative platforms.
• Partner with ecommerce and development teams to improve site architecture, crawlability, indexation, and technical SEO health.
• Build and manage content optimization plans for category pages, product pages, technical content, blogs, whitepapers, and high-intent landing pages.
• Identify opportunities for calculators, guides, FAQs, and other high-value content that drives organic traffic and conversions.
• Monitor performance using Google Search Console, analytics platforms, and SEO tools to track traffic, rankings, and revenue impact.
• Analyze search data to identify growth opportunities and provide clear reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain SEO governance across brands, including taxonomy, internal linking, schema, and content standards.
• Optimize content for AI-driven search experiences, including answer engines and generative search results.
• Stay current on search engine algorithm updates, AI search trends, and industry best practices.
• Support the development of a centralized SEO and Search Visibility Center of Excellence.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field required.
• 7-10 years of proven hands-on success in SEO, AEO, GEO, or related search optimization disciplines.
• Experience managing SEO for ecommerce or multi-site environments preferred.
• Demonstrated success improving organic traffic, rankings, and revenue through search optimization initiatives.
• Strong understanding of technical SEO, keyword research, and content strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting large product catalogs or B2B ecommerce websites.
• Experience managing agencies, freelancers, or external partners.
• Familiarity with Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, or similar tools.
• Experience with AI search, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), or Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
• Experience working cross-functionally with ecommerce, IT, product, and marketing teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate search performance into business impact.
